This is a clean new hotel. It was nicely decorated and the food at the Houlihans restaurant was better than anticipated. The business center was also very useful for email and printing boarding passes. The staff also was very helpful. The only complaint I would have is the ""thin"" walls allow too muc noise from neighboring rooms. Other than that, it was really good and I highly recommend this hotel.

The Carbondale Holiday Inn Conference Center is the best hotel I have visited this past year. The front desk staff was knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. I really appreciated the free/or discounted breakfast at Houlihans the following morning. The rooms are clean, quiet, and very pet friendly. The grounds were perfect for our pet. The instructions were clear where to walk, and where to not walk our dog. The areas designated were not the rough woodsy backlot of typical hotels, but were well groomed and landscaped. Still in the back, but it did not seem like this area was an afterthought.

Although it's 12 miles off the interstate, it was well worth the drive to get to this property. The lovely appointed lobby and well-dressed and mannered staff just set the tone for our stay. The room had 2 queen size beds that were very comfortable. The room was a little small, but it was very clean and the bathroom was immaculate. The property has a Houlihan's Restaurant, we ate there that evening and the food was good.

My son and I came down to Carbondale to check out Southern Illinois University and we were thrilled with this hotel. I have had some very bad experiences with other hotel chains and I was anticipating another one BUT THIS WAS GREAT. XXX was my first contact on the phone and she was wonderful but every staff member we came in contact with was extremely helpful and friendly - no attitude. The room was very, very clean. Beds extremely comfortable especially important because I have a very bad back. It was quiet ! Whatever small hall noises were drowned out by the ability to keep the fan running at a constant temperature throughout the night. The restaurant next door provided very good food at reasonable prices - quick and good room service. It was very nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room - saved a bit of money on meals. Breakfast included on weekdays and discount coupons on weekends. Exercise room had great variety, was very clean, and pool very nice as well. Hotel was conveniently located down the street from a major mall & a WalMart. Two minutes from the SIU campus. What a pleasant surprise this was!

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. Superb bedding and extra large room. Houlihan's was a great spot for a night cap and the bacon and freshly squeezed orange juice at the Sunday buffet breakfast were wonderful.
