The Kauai Marriott is located with an isolated lagoon just 3 miles from the LIH airport. They have a shuttle, but best to rent a car to see the island. Shopping Center (incl. supermarket and Costco) is a 5-minute drive away so you can buy your own fruits, morning snacks, and alcoholic beverages at market (not bar) prices if you want. The Hotel is very quiet and not "touristy". People are very polite and keep to themselves. The large swimming pool is exceptionally clean, constantly kept at a very comfortable 82 F, not very crowded, and contains four working hot tubs. The lagoon is swimmer friendly and not crowded. On site bars and restaurants are very reasonable in menu and cost and do not stress a dress code so it makes the overall experience very relaxing. Also, has free WiFi spots on site for those who can't stay away from email and/or Internet. Overall, one of the better places we have ever stayed at on vacation and it is well worth the ~$* cost per day.

While the hotel was going through a renovation, its service levels did not suffer at all. We enjoyed many days by the awesome pool and could barely tell that a renovation was going on. The property itself is large and there's lots to explore nearby. We stayed for 5 nights and found the hotel location to be convenient to the airport and easy to use as home base to navigate around the entire island. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. All the staff were incredibly helpful and never hesitated to ask if we needed anything. I can't wait to go back once all the renovations are complete!

Beautiful facilities, the grounds are immaculate with many native and exotic landscapes. The pool and beach area was exceptionally maintained. Our ocean view room was spacious for 2, clean and comfortable. The view of the bay area is breathtaking. Great value for the money, although we did not get Marriot points for the 8 nights, we did get points for all the room charges. Food was pricey, but meals were delicious with large portions.

First I would like to start with we booked a package through the Marriott not travel website, maybe that is part of the problem. it took us two hours to get our car because the marriott failed to notify the car rental place. Then they told us that the Spa and golf package (the reason we booked through them) wasn't part of the package, even though our paperwork says that is is very clearly! And to top it off our room isn't very clean, they only changed the sheets one time (the second out of 6 nights),they would only gave us one washcloth for a two bath suite! AND they never once cleaned the already dirty tub! and only one thing of coffee for the 7 days we stayed, SO CHEESY! I will Never come back!
