Paid for room upon, went opened the door the chlorine smell made our eyes water instantly and there were about 20 flies flying about the room. There was no fan or air conditioner and one could not close door for the chlorine. Went immediately to front desk and declined room and stated we would not stay – woman on duty would not refund our credit card charge. I’ve called travel agency and they say I have to deal with the Homeland Inn – can’t even get them to answer the phone!

The dresser drawers were sticky. The bathroom sink leaked; the soap was almost big enough to see. The breakfast consisted of small white donuts and blueberry muffins and coffee; no juice; small breakfast compared to most contiental breakfasts. Front desk persons were affable and friendly.

When I see the good 5 smile reviews, it makes me think the motel staff must be posting their own fake rave reviews. This place is not worth the $*. The bed linens are dirty and uncomfortable, the carpeting is gross, there is no soap or shampoo in the bathroom - but they have it for sale at the front desk (!) - and there are bugs. The single pane windows are just like having the freeway and parking lot noise in your room with you. You will be happier sleeping in your car!

The pull a bait and switch. The sign says $ but the woman charged me $ which was the same price as the Motel 6 close by. I was too tired to object as she quickly charged my credit card before telling me the price. The next morning I looked more closely at the sign and the small print said ""from"" $25.99 The woman was uncommunicative, but when the electronic door key card didn't work and I had to go back and get it replaced, the daughter was perky and nice. They emphasized that I should return the key card in the morning. This is the first place I've stayed that has emphasized that, so it seems they might be on a short budget and need to reuse key cards (which may be why the key card did not work and I had to get another). I also found out the next morning that the ""continental breakfast"" advertised on the sign is just free coffee and a greasy little bakery doughnut, probably a day old. There was a very slight sewer smell in the room every now and then. There is no air conditioning control. It was okay at night when I checked in, 75 F., but it had dropped to 66 F. in the morning which isn't really bad but I would like to have control. The room is relatively barren. But that is okay with me because it is an inexpensive motel. The wireless Internet is okay, but too elaborate (they provide username and password; and you have to keep a little window open to log off when you are done). It did not work with Firefox so you should have Internet.
