This was our first trip to Kauai and we just loved the hotel. It was at a great location, with a grocery store and other shops located right across the street. The pool was perfect for my children, although the beach was a little rough for swimming. Our next visit to Kauai, we would definetly stay at the Outrigger Waipouli again. I would highly recommend this hotel!

This place was incredible. We stayed in an Ocean Front room (definitely worth the upgrade) and we loved it. It was spacious, clean, and the view of the ocean is incredible. The restaurant on the grounds had good food and live music. The pool was great on the days we stayed around the hotel. There were a lot of kids there but they mostly stuck to the pool area. There was a Monk Seal that came on shore everyday to get some sleep. There is a Safeway right across the street which makes the full kitchen come in handy. This place is worth every penny.

Recently spent a week at Waipoili Resort with three tweens. 2BR/2BA plenty of room. Clean, well kept. Pool is great. We love the central location to both north and south shore sights. Some rooms will have boogie boards and sand toys, others not. If you get the cheapest room you will get a parking lot or street view, pay the extra for "partial ocean" view. The staff is good, but not the most helpful. The complimentary use of a "clean up" room on your departure day is a nice perk, as is free wireless. We've stayed on Maui and the Big Island and these units are the best appointed.

The hotel is everything you see in the pictures - beautiful, clean and luxurious. The suites were wonderful and contained everything we needed. The kids loved it too. I would say that we didn't get a lot of swim time in as this is a very windy part of the island and during the month of February the weather didn't really cooperate for more than one day of swimming. But, given we are Californians and used to 100+ days, we couldn't really complain. There were lots of mid-westerners perfectly happy in the pool!! I also didn't feel like the staff was entirely welcoming - some were, and others were not. But we ignored it and had a great time anyway!!

Aloha! Just returned from Kauai last week after staying at this resort. I went with a friend and her family, so being the third wheel, I didn't mind staying on the pull out couch- very convenient! The room was beautiful- granite countertops, stainless steel appliances. We had the partial mountain view- with Safeway and the parking lot and the ocean to the left of the lanai- it was still stunning every morning to wake up to that! All the employees at the resort were very friendly and always asked how our stay was going. We were a little disappointed in the beach- it was very rocky and had a lot of debris in the sand and water. That was the least of our worries, though! We made it to several other beaches and had a fantastic time! Although, I think next time I would stay at a resort that had a great beach as well- it's more convenient. The location of this resort was great- across from Safeway (get the Safeway card for better savings!) and ABC. We went to ABC every day! I would recommend this resort if you don't bank on spending a lot of time at the resort beach. Pool was wonderful though, too. A hui hou! Leslie Kansas City, Missouri
