The Waldorf. What can you say. One of the great hotels in NYC. I was lucky enough to get a great rate on Travelocity. Grand Old Hotel with great rooms and great service staff. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We checked in and the wine glass had someone elses lip marks on them and it stayed that way for 2 days. I wrote on the mirror in the steam and it was there the next day.come on people can't you get this right yet.

I treated my mother who is a very spry 87, to her first trip to New York this past week. We choose the Waldorf because of its history, reputation, friend's recommendations, and because I have gold Hilton Honor's status. When we got there which was about 3 p.m. on a Tuesday afternoon, reception was very busy. A very pleasant staff member invited us to the VIP check in which made us feel like queens. We were upgraded to a suite on the 17th floor with HUGE rooms that was the most beautiful set of rooms I have every stayed in. That is alot to say as I travel almost every week for business and have stayed in some of the best in the world. The staff was ALWAYS friendly and helpful. They gave us breakfast coupons for everyday of our stay which was wonderful. That allowed us to enjoy each morning in the exquisite lobby of the Waldorf along with delicious pastries and Starbucks latte's. Because of the Waldorf's central location we were able to walk to most of our destinations with no problem. But for those places were we needed a taxi, due to the unbelievable conveniences offered at the Waldorf, we never had to wait for a taxi. Even checking out at 4 a.m. in the morning in order to catch a 6 a.m. flight proved to be extremely easy and pleasant. Again, the staff and hotel operation is impeccable. Also the most comfortable beds in the world. We loved the Waldorf Astoria.

The hotel was lovely. Historic and sohpisiticated. The staff was super friendly and even sent up something special for my daughters 18th birthday, with a hand written note, on a silver platter. The concierge was very helpful (ask about the Greek restaurant nearby, dining outside on a warm night without reservations). I was also very impressed with the security. I would love to stay there again.
