I booked a stay here for a leisure weekend and found the hotel to be really nice. The room was small which was fine until my sister spent a night there with me! The bathroom was teeny-tiny (standing room only) which made it nearly impossible for the two of us to get ready for dinner at the same time. The check in was easy, the housekeeping staff was polite and bellman was nice. The lobby definitely was not the place to be, a lot of suits, not jet setters! All in all, I would stay here again if traveling alone. I must not forget the complimentary fruit plate and bottled water that was waiting for me in my room upon check in. Perfect after a long day of traveling!

I and my family were 1 night guests at InterContinental Barclay New York on October 1 and October 2. When I left I have paid $ and I was told that I don’t owe anything else. After 4 days they charged my credit card additional $ I made a call and I was told that bartender visited my room after I left and that he realized that I have drink some beverages. I told them that it is not truth and that they are making things up; also, if you take anything from the bar system will automatically charge your account. Person from the billing department said immediately that he will refund the money. Be careful with this hotel; I believe that they apply fake charges to everybody and they are giving money back only to those who find out later by looking into credit card statement and call them for explanation.

I stayed at the Waldorf ;wonderful experience, as always; next door to this hotel during the week for work and decided to fly my girlfriend out for the weekend and see a show. We booked last minute and this was one of the few hotels that had rooms available. I stayed at the Atlanta location once and it was great so I took a shot. BAD IDEA. The room is entirely too small. With a suitcase on the rack, you can't navigate around the bed. The edge of the sink actually hangs over the edge of the tub and if someone is in the shower you can't really get ready at the sink/vanity because the shower curtain prevents that. the shelf behind the toilet is ;in the way; as well. tube television, tiny closet etc etc. Beyond the disappointing room, every single interaction with staff was a nightmare. I was polite, not rude, screaming or yelling when I called to question the room I booked. The guest services associate I initially spoke with made it clear that if I was unhappy with the room I ;could take it up with Travel website; and promptly said goodbye. We called for room service twice and ended up having to go to the hotel bar and just order what we wanted from the bar, also terrible to deal with. I actually walked back over to the Waldorf and explained the situation to see if they had any rooms so we could move over. They did not but the associate told the manager and he offered ALL of the hotel services to us to use. We stayed away from our hotel as much as possible and if we needed anything, dinner, concierge etc. we went to the Waldorf.

Eventhough our stay was already paid for, the hotel put a $. hold on our credit card without our knowledge. When we realized, I called the front desk and was told this was a mistake. The hold should have been only $700. I was told I'd have to speak to a manager to get the hold reduced so I left a message on the manager's voice mail. I never heard from a manager or anyone else and we were there for 6 more days. There were 3 of us in the room; we had a king and a roll away; and we were left only two towels and 0 washcloths everyday. I had to call for another towel and washcloths every evening. We stayed at the hotel 7 nights. The coffee pot is a single serving maker. We were left 2 regular and 2 decafs each day. There is a sign that one coffee is free and the next you have to pay for. Since we are coffee drinkers, we didn't care for this much. We went to the restaurant next door and bought our coffee. The bathroom was very small, but we expected small so that wasn't a shock. The housekeeping staff were extremely nice. Eventhough we had to ask for our towels, etc, they were extremely nice and tried to be helpful when we did need them everyday. We are planning another trip to New York around Christmas and we will be looking for another hotel in that general area as that is very close to most things. We do not recommend staying at this hotel.

We were very pleased with our hotel. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. Beds very comfortable. The location was perfect for our plans to see the city. The concierge service is great, and the doormen out front were great at grabbing you a cab and very pleasant want welcoming. A great value . Only minor negatives are that the bathroom was tiny, and the online features for the television don't work. We had the tech guy up to the room because we were trying to use the online concierge, he said it never works. But no problem, because the "live " concierge was great. They were a little busy, but that is to be expected. One other thing...when asking for dinner reservations, which the concierge can get for you easily, ask about menu option and price. We went to a great little italian resturaunt with a beautiful garden in the theatre district, just a little surprised that the menu was a prix fix menu each. A little pricey, but very nice.
