I stayed here while in town for business. I wish that I would have had time to play golf on the on-site courses--they were in great condition and looked nice. The rooms here were a pretty good size and the bed was comfortable. I enjoyed sitting out on the patio--it wasn't huge, but I could take my laptop out there and work as they had wireless. Room service was very good and the staff was incredibly friendly. Enjoyed the spa bath products in the bathrooms--they had a great scent. The lobby area was large and had a bar right in front of you as soon as you walked in. I was there over Halloween and enjoyed seeing the staff all dressed up and the front desk decorated. The lobby area got a little loud in the evening with all the people at the bar (I think some were even locals) and then the rest of the property was extremely quiet in the evenings.

While getting away for a day, I as a local, decided to enjoy the amenities of the PGA spa and hotel stay. Not impressed! For those of you seeking and expected luxury service save yourself the headache and don't bother with PGA International. The spa is not quiet or calming. The help helped themselves to the snack display and I found one employee shaving her face in the mirror! The massage was anything but relaxing as I chose a 75min Swedish there was very little technique involved and a lot of talking and pausing by the ma-souse..What a waste of $200 and my time. The room was average looking and the bed was cozy, but the bathroom toilet and tub were small and the tub was slimy. The in room coffee pot was filthy and while cleaning it myself I found hair inside the water shaft. I'm glad I checked before making a cup. I recommend going to a resort where they actually care about there clientel and business.

We booked our trip in Feb. '07, prior to the renovations, and were never notified there would be construction until we were checking-in. They didn't seem to care that the hotel was not offering the amenities we thought we would have and charged a resort fee. I've never paid $16+ for a daily newspaper - and I had to pick it up in the lobby! The only pool was at the spa and it closed at 5:00; the only restaurant open in the evening was in the lower level, no windows, limited menu, out-dated. Our balcony overlooked port-o-potties. Once the renovations are complete it may be a nice resort, but after my experience I would not return. They have alot to learn about customer service.

the grounds and the rooms were gorgeous. Very well-kept golf courses. There are a lot of major rennovations going on, so we did miss out on some of the resort's actual beauty and the additional mandatory charge of $16 per day to use the pools in the spa area since the hotel pool isn't built yet, was an unwelcomed surprise. But I cannot say enough nice things about our room itself and the housekeeping staff too!

  • While under renovation - it's all about the rate!

Right now, they're in the middle of a massive renovation. It's needed! The hotel is very long in the tooth. Spacious but outdated, this hotel is now now not up to the standards being set in this corridor by others who have followed. But for under $* a night (all in), it's a good deal. For the right money, you look past the tawdry prints and the long walk to evrything because of what's closed, what's open and how you can or can't get there.

Post-renovation it looks like it will more than compete but it was over-priced before too. Sadly, even the gold courses are not getting their usual attention but they still trade on their legend and charge premium prices.

The real estate downturn in S. Fla. threatens to not fill up all the new stuff that's coming along PGA Blvd. but the local variety of restaurants and conveniences should come. All they have to do is bring a few more PGA events... that doesn't seem to be a problem.
