I just returned from a long weekend stay at Song of the Sea on Sanibel Island. This was my 3rd visit at this lovely hotel and the second time just this year because I came with a friend in June and she insisted on staying at Song of the Sea. I have stayed at other places on Sanibel and Captiva and always seem to come back to Song of the Sea. I paid approx $/night for low season. You will receive a room with small kitchenette, free bikes, free continental breakfast (you can make your own waffles;, free chairs and umbrellas and a bottle of wine waiting for you in your room on arrival. The rooms are decorated nicely and yes the bathroom is small enough for one. I don't spend much time in my room but enjoy the screened porch in the evening. For a few dollars more, you can have an oceanfront room but from my 2nd floor room, I can see the ocean. The pool is spotless. It's very quiet here with mostly couples and singles. There are many, many places to stay on the island and Ft. Meyers Beach but, to me, this particular place has more to offer for your money than other places do that will charge a few hundred dollars a night and then charge you extra for chairs and umbrellas, etc. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. No place is perfect but Song of the Sea comes pretty close.

Song of the Sea is accurately depicted in the photos. Our room was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. Our stay was very relaxing and we enjoyed every minute. Our only regret was that we did not book a longer stay because we could not stay an extra night as they were booked solid. The staff is very friendly and service oriented. The island can be pretty pricey for eating out which made the refridgerator and little kitchenette very convenient. The kitchenette is stocked with plates, glasses and utensils. The atmosphere was romantic and it was very quiet. Our room was clean and the bed queen size, was very comfortable. We will request the same room with gulf view on our next stay. The balconies are screened in which was also very nice. Dolphins were swimming in the surf on several mornings - within a few feet of us! We have stayed at a few other inns in Sanibel and this is by far our favorite. Can't wait to go back.

We were not impressed with the Song of the Seas. Our floor was dirty (even after she "cleaned" our room and our bedspread was dirty and stained. The staff was great. We loved the island.. wish our hotel would of been nice.. we would of stayed another night.

This resort was absolutely perfect. The pool view room was gorgeous. Very comforable and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly. There was a welcoming bottle of wine left on our table upon arrival, nice touch. Breakfast served daily with many items to choose from. The coffee was superb. The walk to the beach a quick one, just step away. Always plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas for our use. There were bikes avaliable at no charge but we did not use them. Maid service was great. All sand was removed daily from the ceramic floors and the room was cleaned spotless. The pool area was beautiful, lots of tropical plants, and the water was crystal clear. Everything was provided for a worry free stay. Some nice touches were the rusk hair and body products, the lighted makeup mirror, blender in kitchen, dvd player and the screened in lanai's with chairs and table. I would definitely stay here again. Can't wait to come back.

All aspects of the "Song of the Sea" were to our liking. It is a small in with only 30 rooms, very quiet, lovely beach, nice pool and a very congenial staff. We were left with our privacy but assistance was imediatly available when necesary. We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days in Sanibel.
