Beautiful setting, the beaches are clean with lots of chairs and umbrellas available. The pools are also well maintained. Overall the staff are very friendly and helpful, but I found this resort to be over priced. The restaurants available on the property were very high and the food only mediocre. The drinks were outrageous. I recommend stopping at Publix before you get to Sannibel and stock up on snacks and alcohol, otherwise you'll pay outrageous prices at the stores on the property. Try dinning at the locale places for better prices and way better food. We really liked The Old Captiva House, RC Otters and the Mucky Duck. You're really not missing anything if you don't get to the Bubble Room. (despite it's reputation for being ""the place"" to go). Taking a shelling trip is really not necessary as you can find the most beautiful shells right on the beach at the resort. Don't miss the manatee at the marina, they are very entertaining. The housekeeping in the rooms/suites was really not up to the level of this type of resort. Some days they are just getting to your room around the time you want to start showering for dinner. Overall if I were to visit this area in the future I would try a smaller more locale place to stay.

For the amount of money, there are much better resorts out there. This place is certainly no Ritz-Carelton! Far, far from it! LXR will lead you to believe this place is 5 star premium service! Folks, it's not & never will be as long as LXR manages the resort! I say this because never did any of the employees go above & beyond like you find in a 5 star resort. When you have a place full of people from other countries who can't speak good English serving you, you're in deep trouble! I don't know how many times I fouls ask an employ a question & they just stared at me! Did they understand what I said or what? If LXR thinks this is the way a resort should be, that is a pretty serious offense! Folks, stay clear of South Seas & just head to Naples & the Ritz Carelton. You'll be glad you did--they truly KNOW what they're doing unlike South Seas!

Although the staff at the front desk was helpful and courteous I donb t think web ll be staying there again. We requested a room with a view of the Gulf but after checking in we noticed that the wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, the 4 of the light switches didnb t work, and a few other things were off. When we went the next morning for breakfast, our cards didnb t work to enter the pool area where the restaurant was located. Instead of being helpful, the 3 employees standing around at the gate told us to get in our car and drive the few miles back to the front desk and get our cards fixed or we could not come inside to eat. They changed our room after we expressed our concerns and it was nice, but we didnb t get the gulf view. Overall, even though some of the employees were courteous, we were disappointed and hoped for more considering the price.

Wasn't as nice as expected for price but was ok for quiet get away. Food and service at resort need work, clearly inexperienced staff but most were friendly. We'd only go back if price wasn't as high-- thought we'd get more luxury for the cost. $12 per day per person resort fee on top of hotel cost seems ridiculous considering what you get for it (towels and beach chairs).
