I had a King room, and the room felt very small. There was really just enough room to walk around the bed. The desk chair bumped against the bed as you got in. Also, the toilet ran constantly. I was only staying one night, so it wasn't worthwhile to try to get it fixed. However, it was reasonably quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And, best of all, this hotel is literally right around the corner from an entrance to the DC Metro red line (Dupont Circle station). Turn left out of the hotel, left at the first intersection, and the entrance is right across the street. Thus, the location makes this hotel completely worthwhile despite the small rooms and occasional issues.

We go to DC often and have stayed at the Hilton Embassy Row many times. It's never been plush, but now it is really getting shabby. I requested a club room, but when we arrived, guess what--there is no club floor anymore. they also did not have the type of room (bed) that I had requested. They allowed you access to a "club room" in the basement but the breakfasts there were stale, snacks were poor, there was a charge for wine and beer, and on the weekend (go figure) there was no happy hour. The rooms are dingy and poorly designed. Our TV faced the window and did not swivel towards the bed. The elevators were out 2 of the 3 days we stayed. We won't stay here again

The good stuff- great location (within seconds to the hip Dupont Circle area and red line metro station- has resturants, retail and bars all very close) great room (very clean and spacious and great view of Massachusetts Ave) great hotel (had an business center with a internet connected computer and printer for use) The bad stuff- do not order room service (40 bucks for a salad and a couple of chicken tenders- a breakfast buffet for two will cost over 50- parking is 35 dollars a night and there is nowhere else to park fyi) All stuff to keep in mind.

This is the first time that I've stayed at this Hilton property. I've stayed at other Hilton's in DC, and although the other properties are great, this location was the best priced. The trade off is that the traffic is a little tougher to negotiate in this area, therefore not as convenient as other locations.

  • Great location, but don't get ripped off in bar

It's all in the title, except, is there any hotel where you can walk through the lobby without hearing the staff talk about something else?
