Great value for a short layover. Stayed for only 10 hours before a 14 hour flight to New Zealand and it was a massive improvement after we moved from the Furama Hotel which was a terrible choice for twice the price just a few miles away. The Travelodge was old, but clean room with tv, ac, and clean bathroom. Took a relaxing swim in the pool and a few hours sleep before we left for Auckland. Would stay again for airport layovers.

I arrived the hotel after midnight because of my flight time. I had to go all the way in the back with heavy stuff up and down the stairs. The way to the room was dark and creepy. The old hotel needs to improve better mood with nicer lighting and that should be helpful. The room wasn't the cleanest. I saw a blood mark in the bathroom and the toilet paper had some wired stains already. The sink did not drain well.. The next morning it was nice customer service in person and on the phone. Denny's is right new to it so I walked and had a good time. I hope this place gets cleaner and even in the early AM I want the staff to be awake in head, don't show customer that you wanna go to bed...

I will never stay again. For a three smiley rating I am so disgusted. We killed 8 bugs in the room. Couldn't walk bare-foot in the room because the carpet was so dirty it was making our feet dirty. The hotel is so old and never been renovated. The a/c was not working properly. Had difficulty logging on to the free wi-fi. The signs to find the ice machine were laid out like a maze, I literally walked through the building to the other side the long way. Those with rooms in the back have to park without gated security like the rooms in the front. We literally slept on the top of the bed without even bothering to get under the covers. No elevator for second floor access. From this experience, I really will hesitate with any rating. The best part was the free continental breakfast.

Old yet cozy.
09/24/2009The lax travel lodge is a step back in time. old building, cozy and homey modernized rooms. noisy a/c unit. i would go back.

We stayed here for 1.5 days to rest before a LONG flight back to Australia. I wouldn't stay here as a vacation destination, but for me flying with a very long distance with a 3 year it definitely suited our needs. It was so cheap that we booked 2 days, and just checked out at 9 pm for our midnight flight to Melbourne. The Pros: inexpensive, friendly staff (someone even carried my suitcase up the stairs for me!), great location, fast and easy shuttle, Denny's next door, clean, free Wifi The Cons: probably the shabbiest motel I've ever stayed in- lots of rotting wood frames, peeling wall paper, terrible lighting, especially in the bathroom etc.
