The hotel we stayed at was really nice, and we were surprised how much better it was than in the pictures. Rooms and beds were great, beds were comfy. We thought the bathrooms could have been a little nicer, and a continental breakfast wouldve been nice too. Beautiful around, and nice hot tub and pool in back. Front desk was friendly, but couldve been a little more helpful at times. Really appreciated the free shuttle service to and from the airport.

but if you're not that particular about being close to South Coast Plaza, stay a little further away and rent a car. Orange County has cheap rental cars, and you can rent a car and find a nicer room further away without spending as much money. This hotel is overrated star-wise. Their elevators broke down, and fitness equipment didn't work (only when we brought this up with the staff did they inform us they had free passes for a fancy workout place across the street... why weren't we informed earlier??? Who knows...) They did have good shampoo and conditioner, although the soap was awful. And there was an abysmal smell that would creep out of the faucet on regular intervals (noticed every time we brushed our teeth... good god, what was that???) Bathroom fixtures had limey scaling on them -- not the best sanity point, and the tub was totally slippery -- had to ask for one of those mats so we wouldn't fall. Was surprised that wasn't already in the room, as I'm sure we weren't the first to almost crack our head open upon getting into the shower. Had good drinks at the little bar at night, although overpriced like any other upscale hotel. Go to Charlie Palmer's across the street at the mall instead if you're looking for really good drinks at night that are worth the price. We did have a little sliver of a balcony -- hardly enough to step out on even. It was silly to have it at all, actually, but nice to be able to open the sliding glass door and let the fresh air inside. They are situated right next to a little pond that is rather nice to walk around. But not nice enough to justify the price.

Most hotel features were fine to excellent, and I will be returning. Two items were unexpected, 1. the $15 per day parking fee and 2. the attempt to charge $10 per day for use of internet service. I believe that both of these services should be included in the daily hotel rate. Otherwise it was a very nice stay.

We thought that the hotel was lovely. The room was clean, the bed was VERY comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly. For our stay, it was in a very good location. There weren't too many attractions in walking distance, however we rented a car, and everywhere that we wanted to go was less than a 10 minute drive. It was not far from the beach, and only 10 minutes from disneyland. However there weren't very many ammenities offered by the hotel. No continental breakfast, no airport shuttle, parking wasn't free, and no free wi-fi. It was per night to park, and we were there for 8 nights! However, I would most likely stay here again due to its convenient location. (I also have family nearby there, and it was a very short drive to see all of them)
