I have stayed here four times in the last few years--twice as a launching pad for the Grand Canyon, once for a 3-day convention, and most recently as a stopping point between Santa Fe and Palm Springs. The property is attractive and well maintained, although the 60s-70s-era glass-wall fronts to the rooms seem a bit outdated and rattly when doors are slammed. It looks like one wing is being updated in this respect; I assume the others will follow. I have found Days Inns in general to be fairly dependable where basic overnight accomodations are required.

The room was large and clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We had made a reservation for a room with microwave and fridge, and even though the room they gave us at arrival was without, they changed it right away. Breakfast could be improved; they could offer more choices. Overall good value for the price.

My first tip should've been the desk staff, who seemed to know little about the hotel business and were dressed like understudies for West Side Story. Follow that with an irritatingly finicky electric door lock and a toilet seat that wouldn't stay up. The heater that delivered no heat. Drapes that wouldn't inconvenience a peeping Tom. All the electrical gadgets in the room, including the phone, that were unplugged (and that required moving all the furniture to get at the plugs). The worst part was that I couldn't connect to the internet, and the people in the office had no idea what I meant when I told them I couldn't get an IP address. ("You don't need an address, just click on the internet," they said, and could not be made to understand.) After a trip to the office to complain, they finally told me there was a toll-free customer support number for their internet service, but they couldn't tell me what the number was. "You can get it on line," they insisted. I complained enough that the clerk called someone who told him where the number could be found. I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with their CS guy, who was at least competent if not truly knowledgable, before he gave up. So I had no internet, which has become the second-most-important attribute of a motel room to me these days. The last insult was when I left at 5AM, and found there was no exterior lighting. If there hadn't been a full moon, I might not have found my car.

NOT my favorite motel in Flagstaff. Switched over to Aspen Inn after 2 days at Days Inn and LOVE Aspen Inn. Read my review there! While they let you have dogs at Days Inn, there is NO place to take them potty. They have signs everywhere saying ""No Pets on Grass"". What--that's ridiculous---like my dog is going to pee/pooh on the asphalt...that's where they want you to take them. whatever!
