it was a nice hotel, very friendly service and they were very helpful. There was one incident when the glass from the fire extinguiser was broken in the hall for a whole day .And the door to the garage wasnt secure.

We stayed at the Red Roof Inn Downtown-Riverwalk on East Houston. This hotel is about 4-5 blocks from the Riverwalk. It was absolutely horrible. The front desk people are indifferent and not very welcoming. The minute I said that I had a room reserved online they gentleman at the front acted like I had a disease. This is definately NOT a 3-star hotel. Our room had 2 small beds, a dresser for the TV and that was it. There wasn't even a small table with chairs to sit. You had to sit on the bed to watch TV. The bathroom had roaches and the tub was seperated from the wall. There wasn't even a coffee maker in the room!! The towels were gross. For the amount of money you pay it definately was NOT worth it. I will NOT ever stay in a Red Roof Inn ever again and will recommend that no one I know stay there either. When we checked out I handed the keys to the gentleman, who took them and told me that I don't get a receipt and if I needed one to contact online since I chose to go with them. There was no "how was your stay? Was everything okay?" Not even "Have a nice day and thanks for staying with us&"Nothing!!! Never, ever again!!!

first night of our arrival the room we checked into the carpet was soaked due to the air conditioner leaking, the they send us up to the sixth floor and when we go to the room apparently the houskeepingtook a break because that room wasn't even cleaned! so after going all the way back down to the lobby the front desk guy named Jesse put us up on the fifth floor , in a room that had two full size beds instead of the king size that we prepaid for! with no refrigerator or microwave as prepaid for, and the next day we were relocated to a buisness room but was denied the view of downtown San Antonio as we requested! and after changing rooms four times in less than a twelve hour period the hotel still denied to offer any credit or compensation for the constant bother of our room not being up to par!! well i guess not every body can be on point like my hotels back here in the great city of Dallas Tx.!! oh by the way myDALLAS COWBOYS looked great during their practices!! thank you san antonio for your hospitality your riverwalk is gorgeous!!!

There was one front desk person I dealt with and he was very nice and friendly. That is the only positive statement I can make. The hotel is dirty...we watched a cockroach walk down the sidewalk as we were entering hotel. No drain stoppers in sink or bathtub. Not enough towels. Our shower's on/off mechanism was broken, so the 2nd morning we couldn't take a shower - they were quick, however, to assign us another room down the hall. I didn't appreciate schlepping my stuff at 5:30 in the morning though. A real pain in the a**!! Chairs in room were dirty/stained. Most of the doors that we used to access the hotel from the parking garage were broken, therefore, anyone could come in at any time. The doors from the garage were supposed to be used via room key for security purposes but doors were broken, handles ripped off, etc.

We got there early for the Joyce Meyer Conference, and they let us check in early to enjoy the Rrivewalk that was just a couple of blocks away. The hotel is in an iron fenced area and only those with keys can get into the free parking garage;I said FREE, rare in downtown san antonio!;. The room was bright, clean and cheerful. All of the staff had a smile and a kind word. I felt completely safe coming and going even on the days I was alone. The breakfast included coffee, juice and pre-packaged muffins with a choice of banana nut, or blueberry, and fresh oranges. They also had hot water and a specialty coffee "whole bean" machine which ground the beans just before brewing. At this machine was the choice of mocha and french vanilla for the fu fu crowd. I use a french press and was glad for the hot water option. We had the 2 full bed room and had a great view of the downtown area. We had no refrigerator in the room or coffee maker or microwave, things that ARE available in the king room...also I believe that they give you their wireless code in the King room otherwise there is an 8 dollar fee to get the code. I brought my own cooler and it was easy to get upstairs on a hand truck that was available in the lobby. I would stay there again! The location is a quick 20 minute drive to almost anywhere in the city, traffic permitting. \Ffor downtown...dirt cheap! Oh there is a Denny's nearby and all the restaurants at your leisure at the Miverwalk and also the location practically affords you a key to the city!We never used the pool though it looked clean and adequate.
