It's hard to think of staying at another location. The service was friendly, the check out at noon gives a relaxed last day, and I loved having Michael Mina's right in the hotel--fantastic. The clock bar is a great place for people watching, and they use nice bar glasses and glasses, which matters. The rooms are small--it is an old hotel, but large enough.

Be prepared to pay for EVERYTHING when you stay here - parking is $55 a day, internet is $15 a day, the gym was like $12 a day...it's insane. We booked a queen bed and got a room with a twin bed, and when we told the hotel they said there was nothing they could do because we booked the room through tonline travel website. My girlfriend and I thought of the Westin as "our" hotel from past experiences, but we will never stay there again. Be warned!

An excellent hotel, with a historic old section and a new tower. We stayed in the tower and had a marvelous view of the City from the 21st Floor. There is a very lively bar in the old lobby called the Clock Bar. It was always full of well-dressed, talkative people. Because it is separate from the large foyer, there is no disturbance to other patrons. The concierge service is excellent. The elevators were a little slow in showing up, but when they arrive, they are very quick to your floor. A very good experience.

The Westin St. Francis is a beautiful hotel. The accommodations were outstanding. I was unaware at the time of the booking that the Westin St. Francis is the oldest hotel in San Francisco and the only building to survive the earthquake and fires of 1906. 1st time to San Francisco and the city was much more than I expected. The history and sites were unbelievable. Plan on returning in the late fall for a 2nd trip.
