We stayed five nights at the hotel. Our room was at best average. It was comfortable and clean but not your typical Hilton room. We were on the "city view" side which, it turned out is better than the "River Walk" side. The view was beautiful. We had a problem with the room air conditioning, but their repair service was prompt and efficient. Their staff was polite and efficient. What the hotel has going for it is location. It's location on the River Walk in in downtown San Antonio is near perfect. Everything is with walking distance or via easy streetcar access. The hotel's resturants and bar are overpriced, but it doesn't really matter since you're within a few hundred feet of a dozen others. Dirty Nelly's at the hotel did serve a good sub. Two resturants not to miss are the Guenther House for breakfast and Mi Tierra for Mexican at the Market Square. We also really enjoyed Boudro's just across from the hotel, particularly their guacamole made right at your table. All-in-all we had a great time in San Antonio and anticipate returning.

My wife and I just spent 5 nights with our two teenage children at this hotel. We're very pleased to say the least. We never encountered an employee that didn't strive to please us. The valet, the front desk, the bell staff, the dining associates (including room service) were all wonderful. The property itself is very clean and attractive. Our room was nicely furnished and very comfortable. The furnished balcony was a nice touch. The beds are very good and you'll find complimentary coffee next to the in room coffee maker. There's also a mini-fridge for anything you need to keep cold. Even the towels were great. We felt very safe as well. They lock the doors down to keyed guest entry only in the late evening. The location is perfect. You're close enough to walk to most anything you'd like to do. The Alamo is two blocks away and an amazing assortment of dining/shopping options are just a short walk down the river. The Hard Rock Cafe and Joe's Crab Shack were two of our favorites. There is a bus stop and trolley station just at the corner of the hotel that will take you around downtown and even as far as Sea World. We didn't need to get our car out of the parking area to visit any local attraction. When you can stay at a place where even your teenagers can't find anything to complain about, you know you're at the right hotel. We would definitely recommend it and plan to return.

Couldn't be more convenient for families; you can't get any closer to the RiverWalk without getting wet! An added bonus is that it is right in the heart of all the restaurants on the river. Convenient, clean, safe and a reasonable value. The only tick mark is the $ to valet - woof! Make sure you reserve at least one morning to walk the six or seven blocks down King William St. to have breakfast at The Guenther House (www.guentherhouse.com) - fabulous and incredibly affordable. Make sure you get there before 9:00 a.m. or you may have up to a 1.5 hr. wait. - probably a 20 to 30 minute walk from the hotel - but it's along the King William Historic Preservation District. Very relaxing.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms were clean with the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. We just loved that every room had a balcony (we recommend to get a room with a river view). Great location. Only downside was the expensive parking, but I guess that is what you get when your downtown in any large city.
