Beautiful hotel, amentities are wonderful. There was a lot of construction happening during our trip, wish i knew in advance. There was also a "Private" corporate event during our stay that had a live band playing outside until 2am, not relaxing! Otherwise the hotel is beautiful and right in the heart of the city. Just check ahead about special events that might be happening during your stay.

Let me first say that this was the first time I was in Honolulu, so maybe my expectations were too high, but this hotel failed to satisfy me at almost every turn. First, if you are contemplating getting a room here you should understand that, at the time of this writing, they have renovated rooms, and unrenovated rooms. The "revnovated" rooms are... ok. Not what I would have expected from a beach-front Sheraton, but ok. The unrenovated rooms -- forget it, unless you like staying in a room with stained carpet and decor and electronics that are circa 1975. Second, at the time of this writing, there is construction going on. Should you venture into the lobby/shop area, you are likely to be greated by the sound of jackhammers breaking concrete. Third, when we asked about upgrading our suite to a renovated one (not necessary, but the 19" tube television was annoying me -- seriously), I found it impossible to get a straight answer. There always seemed to be two messages in the response when asked the simple question "Are any renovated suites available? Those messages were 1) not many, if any, and 2) even if there are any, they are very expensive so why are YOU bothering to ask. I don't *think* I looked poor, but who knows... Room service and lceaning was adequate, if not as timely as I would have liked. Food downstairs (particulary the breakfast buffet), was pretty good -- as I think a $ person breakfast should be. All in all, I was left quite surprised that this prime real estate, run by a huge name in hotels, wasn't home to a more modern, upscale, service-oriented exprerience. I would not stay there again.

We had an ocean front room viewing the beach and the beautiful clouds every morning. This is ideal location for everyone. There was an ongoing construction in the lobby and by the pool area but it didn't bother us since we stayed on high floor. My boyfriend and I stayed there for 6 days and had an amazing time. Services were good except that line on the concierge. It took us an hour to stay in line and book 2-3 events in 15 mins. Otherwise, services were good. This hotel is best for its location. We only rented a mini coupe just to cruise around the area for 4 hours. The rest of the time, all our events have transportation included. The best part is that transpo picked us up right in our hotel. We didn't just stay in the Waikiki area, we also explored the North and west side are for the beach, swimming with the sharks, parasailing, jetskiing and more. All events booked in the hotel had good packages. Also, if you are a shopper, this is the best location. Just a walk out from the hotel and you'll be in the strip in 2 secs. Best best location so far. I've been in the Hilton before and I prefer Sheraton mainly because of the location and the ocean view I had.

We actually only spent two nights in the hotel. And it served the purpose well. Rooms were fine, we actually got upgraded to a partial ocean view (always ask, it doesn't hurt, especially when you're on a honeymoon). But we did not spend much time in the hotel anyway. Honolulu is good for shopping and the Sheraton is well situated, located centrally in the Waikiki beach area. The pool seemed nice, but we didn't have time to hang out there. There was construction going on, but it didn't bother us, since we did not spend much time in the hotel. Conclusion: Good location, clean, standard room for a short Honolulu stay. I will stay again, should we return to Honolulu again, before heading to the other Hawaiian Islands.

Everything was great...rooms were remodeled with a view of the beach and pools. The kids loved the three pools, waterslide and hot tubs. Turned out to be a real value pick for us. Convenient location too...restaurants, shopping and transportation all within easy walking distance (less than 5 minutes). Nothing that would be considered a negative!!
