We just stayed at the Hyatt for 4 days during our honeymoon. Everything was wonderful. Service was great and the hotel is spotless! Breakfast buffet was included in our very reasonable rate and it was great. Waikiki is a busy shopping/nightlife area on a beach. The Hyatt doesnt exactly touch the sand, but its 10feet across the street from the best stretch of sand. They have live entertainment poolside every night. You can sit in the hot tub with a full view of the beach/sunset and listen to the music. I highly recommend this hotel compared to the others in the area. The Westin is a little more glamourous than the hyatt, but not sure it justifies paying a higher price. Location of Hyatt is also better than the Marriott. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Not as good as they made it seem

Just not as nice as you would think a hyatt should be!

Love the clean hotel room and its view from the back overlooking the highrise skyline or the beach front. Across the street is the beach. The breakfast buffet was great with lots of tasty selection and variety. Love the chef that makes the omelet in front of you. All the staff are knowledgable, friendly, and courteous. The gym room was filled with a good variety of equipment and it offered towels for use. There was a convenient ABC store downstairs to get beer, water, and drinks. The airport shuttle and bus tours conveniently picks you up and drop you off from the back of the hotel. About a block away are buses to diamond head, haunama bay, the mall, etc... Just walking down the street you will get to shop at different stores. Check out the Honolulu Cookie Company that's a great place to get souvenirs. You can either bring back Hawaii pineapple from the airport if it's more convenient or buy it from chinatown at the most reasonable prices and ride back on the bus to the hotel. Overall it is a clean, beautiful, convenient location hotel worth four to five stars.

It was our second time here - great location, friendly staff, clean rooms, and right across from Waikiki - what more could you want The answer? Better beds. Our last stay here was in the east wing of the hotel - absolutely fantastic - 5 out of 5 for the room. This time was in the west wing. I had booked the same room as last time - the booking said suitable for 4 people - just like last time. Wife, me and 2 kids 16 and 11. Only problem this time was the two beds we were faced with. Last time we had two x queen beds. This time we had 2 x double beds but they had to be the slimmest double beds i have ever seen. So slim in fact when I lay on it with my 11 year old there was not enough room for me to move from a flat on back position without kneeing my kid in the back. The front desk were polite but insisted that they only ever had double beds. I even showed them a photo from the previous year of the room with 2 x queen beds which they steadfastly refused to acknowledge they ever had. End result, the worst sleeps I have had in a long time. Be wary if you have 4 people, then the room with 2 beds is not going to handle it - really its a room for 2 people only. One other not - it takes forever to be seated for breakfast. Aside from this would recommend this hotel.
