despite its close proximity to U of F, I would recommend avoiding this hotel as it is described by locals as being on the ""seedy"" side of town and it definitely was.

I heard people outside all night long, there were holes in the wall the rooms were musty and cig smoke coming through the vents. I slept with my coat on with hood up so bugs would not crawl on me. I would not let my dog sleep here . I should have slept in the car! All hotels were booked that weekend except for this one.

This is the little days in that could. In spite of the initial appearance (it needs some painting and replacement doors) the rooms were very clean and the staff beyond excellent. The pool was very clean and though the furniture was showing age it was in good order. It was quiet and family friendly.
