This hotel has the best Easter buffet around and has a wonderful, friendly atmosphere. I noticed several people complaining about the 9.95 internet access fee. If you like to stay at E-suites with your family, get ready for this because I just got hit with it at one of their hotels in Washington, DC as well.

$9.95 per day for internet access and $10 per day for parking. Although the hotel was nice, restaurant was really good, and was a safe place, a few loud guests were echoing in the walkway (7th floor) outside their rooms until after 1 am on Saturday night. Luckily the bedrooms are on the far wall so it muffles the loud atrium. Hot tub was roped off - apparently broken. Overall, the place was fine, but I probably would have stayed elsewhere if I knew of the extra $20 per day charges.

My husband & I stayed Halloween weekend, which included numerous costumed party guests. A little noisy but we had a corner suite & wern't disturbed. I was hesitant to reserve a room based on other reviews, but saw generally the same issues at other area hotels in this price point. Elevators were reasonably prompt, staff was VERY courteous and helpful. Food at the restaurant, bar and room service is from the same kitchen and very good. Free evening reception and morning breakfast were adequate, remember that you get what you pay for, so don't expect gourmet food or name-brand drinks. Weekends are busy and late risers (like us) wait in line for breakfast; get up early to eat and then go take a nap. Food staff was courteous and pleasant but lacked organization, esp at the grill. Our corner suite wasn't worth the extra price, it's larger only by a2'x6' bay window which is blocked by a sofa table and curtains. Hywys 95 & 35 intersect 1 block north, but overnite & weekend traffic noise wasn't bad. Great view of the capital dome. Beautiful center atrium, loved the duckies, but the rooms are smaller than usual & outdated in a Marie Antoinette sort of way. Prices quoted at their website are as good or better than online travel services. Our only problem was that our room wasn't cleaned Saturday, when informed the desk staff apologized, offered clean towels &, upon request credited 20%. Easy walk to the Fitzgerald for Prairie Home, then Mickeys Diner for dinner on a pleasant night but would be harsh in winter weather. Not a lot to see on an evenings walk, we felt safe as long as we kept moving. Fits my expense account requirements.

We stayed here because we wanted to be close to Grand Ave. in St. Paul. We usually really like E. Suites for the extra space for the 5 of us. This was by far the smallest E. Suites we've stayed in even after spending more for the " bigger " corner room. The lobby & rooms are way out-dated ! The rooms are just semi clean. The phone & the hairdryer didn't work. The wi-fi has a fee which is not posted (my 10 year old got on & entered our rm. # which then charged us without ever telling him there was a fee). The manager's nightly reception which is usually a bonus with "free" snacks was so bad. They food the 1st night consisted of a tray of lunch meat grade salami & a tray of crackers. The next night was a big bowl of community cheese wiz that u scooped out of with the tray of crackers as well. This was a total different experience than what we've had @ other E. Suites. The breakfast was OK & pretty comparable to what we've had before. E. Suites always charges $ 8/day for parking which was the same here. We love to stay in this area but will not stay here again unless they do major updating! i have to say the kids loved the ducks which are in the lobby.
