I thought that for the rate this was an excellent stay. My room was clean and it was as big as rooms for twice the price. The bed was comfortable so I was able to sleep well. The breakfast was continental with a waffle maker but only orange juice. By the 4th morning it was a little boring. The management and personnel were friendly and helpful. The ice machine had a problem, which was not a real problem in the winter (this was the week of the storm of the decade). Try to get a room with an indoor corridor. I've already made another reservation here.

I booked this motel many months in advance requesting a quiet room with an additional request for a refrigerator in the room on the 1st floor. When we got there, besides the fact that there was no a/c in the lobby and it was 98 outside, they gave us a room on the first floor facing the pool and there was no refrigerator. We changed rooms. This time we were given a room on the second floor...facing the pool again. It was obvious from the go that there were some residents of the motel who were living there permanently. We were in Des Moines for a family reunion. We did our thing for the first day and when we got back to the motel, there was still no refrigerator. I went down and the clerk informed me she couldn't locate him. We were tired so I asked that it be brought up the next morning. We did some errands and came back around noon, still no refrigerator. I called and talked to the manager who said it would be brought up. We went out again and when we got back that late afternoon...still no refrigerator. I went down and the manager said he was sorry it would be done immediately. After an hour...guess what? NO refrigerator. After yet another phone call, it was brought up that night...two days into our 4 night stay. The next morning we were woken up to a group of young people in the grass behind the motel cheering out loud at 8:00AM!! The front desk staff was completely rude and not helpful at all, especially the one with glasses and a heavy foreign accent. Stay somewhere else!!

Chose this hotel because of pet friendly policy and perfect location for this trip. The staff was friendly and helpful but the hotel is in bad need of updating. We had to change rooms because the first room we were given smelled so bad we couldn't stay in it. We found an empty booze bottle under the bed in the second room. Many guest appear to be long-term residents.

Room seemed dingy and just outdated. Not as clean as I would have liked. Bed was pretty comfortable but they were stingy with the pillows..only 3 for a king size bed. The continental breakfast was pretty good for being free. Great location, lots of stuff nearby such as restaurants and shopping.
