We spent a 4 day weekend in Munich Germany and stayed the Hilton Munich City hotel. We had prepaid a bed and breakfast special. The hote is conveniently situated right above the S-Bahn so all you need to do is the take the S8 subway under Munich Airport and exit at Rosenplatz Station (at the "A" end of the station), then go up the escalator, turn right to the connecting Hilton entrance (all covered). The hotel front desk promptly greeted us with smile and check in went smoothly. The staff provided excellent service from housekeeping to the Breakfast Buffet staff where Monika greeted us by name every morning. From the hotel, it was easy to catch the S-Bahn to the main city center (Marienplatz..4 minutes away) 2 stops away and to the main Munich train station (4 stops away..9 minutes). From there we went touring around Barvaria to Neuschwanstein Castle (inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castles). The Hotel is right across the the street (or connected via an underground subway plaza) from a convenience store where you can stock up on snacks, water, soda, wine/beer. There are a variety of restaurants (German, Italian, Mexican, Chinese) all around as well as more traditional sandwich shops or a Subway sandwich shop nearby. The Hotel's breakfast buffet has a great selection of german dishes, as well as standard eggs (cooked to order), meats (germain weisswurst, bacon, sausages), fruits, vegetables/salads, cheeses, breads, freshly fruit juices, coffee, and champagne. It was a great meal to start the day. Oh yes, and I can't say enough good things about the staff and service. The rooms were spacious and we got a great courtyard view room that was very quiet. I will plan to stay here again as it is a wonderful hotel.

What a great location as far as proximity to downtown Munich and tourist attractions! Don't bother with taking a cab from the airport to the hotel. Save your dough for fun related activities and take the S8 subway line to the Rosenheimer Platz stop that is situated directly beneath the hotel. Finding the exit that leads directly to the hotel proved to be a challenge (and not fun hauling your luggage around with you trying to find it) but you?ll figure it out eventually. It's worth the effort. Relating to the hotel itself, we enjoyed the spacious room, effective AC, flat screen TV with radio option, ice maker located in the hallway along with a self serve shoe shine machine that was pretty slick! We didn?t enjoy the cushy, way too soft pillows, yucky stains on the carpet and soiled bed skirt but the bed sheets and pillow cases themselves were very clean. On a scale of 1 through 10 with 10 being the highest we?d rate the overall cleanliness of the establishment as a 9. The Hotel Staff was very friendly, helpful, readily spoke English and laughed along with us in relation to our poor command of the German language. They appreciated our efforts though! Concierge X was especially helpful in relation to tourist spot recommendations that were cost effective and providing directions to various Munich hot spots. He assisted us in making travel arrangements to our next stop in Prague which was very cool and much appreciated! There is great shopping, eating and internet cafC) access in the neighborhood a few blocks away, check it out! Take a left as you exit the front entrance of the hotel rather then head downtown (to the right), you won't be sorry! Overall assessment - stay here!

the hotel location was perfect, S8 underground train stops underneath the hotel directly from the airport. Perfectly safe for 2 women(my daughter and I) traveling alone. Hotel was within walking distance to center of town. The hotel concierge was very helpfull and eveyone spoke English. The food was excellent however, be carefull as the receptionist told us at check in time that breakfast was included with our room purchased. I did not questioned it as I had read all the reviews on the hotel and the add stated that breakfast was included. However, at check out time they charged me for breakfast at $$ euros per person. I did not like the fact that I did not have the choice to take it or make other arrangements. The receptionist spoke English, so is not that we did not understand her. She made the mistake and I paid for it.

Very convenient to all modes of transportation and downtown. Best place to say in Munich! The staff was very helpful in providing information for sights. I didn't need to book a tour because the staff was very insightful on how to take the trains and subs to the popular sights.
