I stayed in Sept 2009 for a friends wedding in coronado. Staff was nice, Valet parking expensive. Rooms were good sized, clean, no fridge, view was great; partial marina with partial city. Breakfast in restaurant was expensive, then we found out seaport village is right behind it. Took a sea/land tour, was really fun. Tons of shops to see. Ate lunch at seaport. When we got back our room was clean, towels changed. After the wedding we went to that ken club on the pool. it was ok, there is a fee. But if you go to the 40th floor there is a bar, very nice, drinks are way better, atmosphere is fun, and no fee to get in. Had a great time, then went back to bed. Room was quiet. would stay again, once prices drop.

  • I would highly recommend this hotel

I just got back from a conference and stayed here for 3 nights. Nice rooms, comfy beds, but a bit on the loud side. The train that runs by the convention center is VERY loud (I've also stayed at the Marriott and you can hear it there, too) and as we returned from dinner one night I stopped at the desk and requested some earplugs. Not 10 minutes passed and a very nice hotel engineer came to my room with 3 pairs of disposable earplugs! Also, at a breakfast event I attended, the waitstaff offered to bring me a fruit plate when I passed on the bacon and eggs they were serving that morning. There were 3 tea drinkers at our table of 8, and all were served hot water with an assortment of tea bags and honey and lemon, plus refills on the water! Usually if you ask for tea, it takes forever to get to you-- after everyone else has had their second cup of coffee-- and then they forget all about you. Well done, Hyatt waitstaff! We also attended several hospitality suites and the food was quite good. Dined at Sally's on the waterfront and I had a wonderful scallop and shrimp salad. Also enjoyed the chipotle cobb salad at Redfield's (I think that was the name), which had surprisingly good food for a sports pub. The only negative is that everything is a bit spendy, $15 and $16 for the salads, and $8 for a small glass of wine at one of the non-hosted events we attended. I suppose that's to be expected at a big hotel, tho. The housekeeper on my floor was a doll, and the employees were all friendly and helpful. Absolutely made my stay!
