We stayed at the Riveria Resort & Spa August 11th & 12th 2009, the hotel decor is second to none it is very glamourous and chic, the room was equally amazing. The pool area was to good to be true, wonderful comfortable beds and seating in the evening around the Fire Pits, although not required due to the outside temp was wonderful, the whole report was spotless, the service was great the valet and reception guys were so friendly, we have an 11 year old daughter who loved it equally, will definitely be back can not wait to return, big recommendation for this Hotel.

Problems we ran into were relatively minor, No wash cloths or hand towels. Houskeeping responded quickly with a couple of hand towels and another large towel, never got the wash clothe. Also the evening service at the pool side bar charged us for seven drinks we didn't order. That was taken off the bill rather quickly upon our check. Our cabana was fun and service was wonderful out by the pool. My only real complaint would be the location of our room which was next to some kind of work untility room. The patio was awful. It sat right next to this workers room and was about the size of a vary small bathroom. Pretty disappointed with that as my favorite thing to do is sit out on a patio early in the morning and have coffee and enjoy either the mountains or a garden or even a pool. All I could see is the stucco wall, unless I wanted to pay more for a better located room. Hesitate to return to this hotel. But with that said the staff were all friendly and offciant.

My husband and I decided to stay at the Riviera for our one year anniversary. When we first arrived, I was very impressed with the decor. It was very sheek and modern. As we were walking up the stairs, we noticed that there was a lot of dirt and sand on the steps, but thought it was due to the wind. We stayed there for 3 days and the steps remained dirty the entire time. I never saw anybody in the hallways to vacume or clean. As we walked to our room, there was an tray from another guest's room on the floor. I presumed it was from the room service they ordered for lunch. To our dismay the next morning we left and saw the tray at the same spot. We decided to have drinks at the Sidebar that night and the food was very good. Our waitress was very attentive and the ambiance was superb. Our first night was horrible. Around 1 or 2 am, there were drunk people walking down the hallway shouting. We could hear everything they were saying and it carried on for at least 30mins. The walls are definitely very thin at this hotel. Each time the door of another room shut close, we we nearly jumped out of the bed. The following day we decided to hang out at the pool. It was a very busy day there and all the lounge chairs were taken up. We sat at the Bikini Bar, hoping to get some decent service and drinks. We waited for nearly 30 minutes and could not get a waitress to serve us. We even flagged down an employee and he just pointed at the server and walked away. We then decided to sit at the bar and try our luck there. We sat next to a couple that told us it took them an hour and half to get their food. That is just ridiculous! Our last day, we went to the restaurant for some breakfast. It took them awhile to serve the food we had ordered. People who were seated after us were getting their food before us. My husband approached the manager and asked him about our food. All he replied was that if we ordered already then the food will come out. After we finished our meal, we waited another 20 minutes to see if we can get our check. The server was nowhere in sight and after many failed attempts to get some help, we just left. The hotel boasts that they went through a multi-million dollar renovation recently, but what they really need to renovate is their management. Clearly this hotel lacks the service aspect of a "Resort & Hotel". I will never return to this hotel.

I love the design of the resort from the room to the sitting areas which are located throughout the facility. If you love decor, you'll love this place. It even gets better, the the bed, bedding and pillows were lovely to sleep on. the only problem I had was the pillow cases. Whatever they use in the laundry set off my allergies. I don't know if they use bleach or some other chemical, it was very strong. I removed the pillow cases and then slept wonderfully.

I was blown away by the new Riviera. The pork belly appetizer was amazing, the pool was beautiful, the service was professional and kind. And, the bathroom was gorgeous! I'll definitely be returning to this destination.
