This used to be a great place to stay, but not anymore. Very poor customer service. Unfriendly staff. I made it clear that I wanted to stay in the "Magic Tower," the same tower where you register and the same tower I have always stayed when at this hotel. I arrived at about 1:45 and was told my room would not be ready until 3:00pm. This Hotel always says this, so I expected it. I just wanted to leave my luggage and that wasn't a problem. I was told I would get a call on my cell phone when the room was ready and that I would be on the 9th floor, but I would have to wait for the room number to be given when they called. No problem. I got a call at 4:45 that my room was ready and was told what room number was assigned me on the 9th floor. No problem. I went to get my luggage an no one was there. After a few minutes someone showed up at the desk and I was told someone would be available soon. The Luggage was a few feet behind her, but I didn't say anything. After 10 or 12 minutes, someone showed up and gave me my luggage. Still no problem. I took the elevator up to the 9th floor only to find that the room number I was given didn't exist. I called the desk from the 9th floor and explained about the room number problem. I was then told I was in the wrong tower. After explaining the same story three times to three different people, I got it straightened out, but no apology. Save yourself a few hundred dollars and stay somewhere else. Also, the restaurants in the hotel complex are very overpriced.

Our stay was wonderful! Check in took a little while but the staff made up for it by giving us each a Mickey mouse balloon and signed picture of Mickey and Minnie in front of the castle! It was a great way to start our trip! We are planning on going back in the beginning of next year! The hotel is great for easy entrance into the park via the monorail! Friendly staff and great pool! Can't wait to go back next year!!!

  • Not worth it- stay somewhere else and walk!

This hotel prides itself on Disney-specific decor, but it's dated and old-fashioned. The bath linens and shower curtains (at $300 a night? You're kidding me...) alone are cause for alarm - thin, raggedy, and rough...I'd say that they are simply capitalizing on their location and have forgotten that they are in the hotel business as well as entertainment. Way too expensive for the value provided. Also, they need to figure it out about expectations for TV - nothing but five or so in-house Disney-themed channels, sports, and news. No movies at all, which I found strange. I get the whole Disney immersion thing, but good grief - if the best info you can use to advertise your rooms is Tinkerbell wallpaper, you've probably missed the point of running a hotel, especially in light of plenty of competition in the area.

This is the most special place to visit...Disnayland. When you stay at the Disneyland Hotel it makes the visit so much more exciting. The staff is very helpful, from the front desk to the housekeeping! It is so very convenient, we didn't have to drive our car for the entire visit. While it is expensive to eat, there are many places to choose from at the park and the hotel.

On first impressions I would rate the quaility of room 2.5 star hotel. It was no better than a room at a Marriott Courtyard. The Disney decor brought the room up to 3 stars. Check-in was great. We drove all-night from Northern Nevada. The fronk desk person put us immediately into a room at 8:30 am. So I could get some shut-eye while the rest of the family spent time in the park. Everyone should have character dining experience on their trip to Disneyland, but only once. We ate at Goofy's Kitchen for brunch. At $35 per person, you are paying half for the food and the other half for a little one-on-one time with characters and Disney experience. The food was good so I have no complaints. Proximity to the park was a bit disappointing (not enough to prevent an excellent rating). The Good Neighbor Hotels on the east side of the resort (Harbor Blvd) were closer to the theme park entrances than we were. You could take the monorail into Tomorrowland from Downtown Disney which is about one city block from the hotel, but you'll have to take a brisk walk to if you want to get to California Adventure.
