We stayed at this hotel for a week-long vacation. The rooms were typical of the UK, small and cramped... The bed was not comfortable, the bathrooms definitely need renovating and the staff needs some additional training - the service was not great. Worst of all - our room smelled terribly like curry! By the time we left, EVERYTHING had the odor! I felt bad for those next to us on the flight back home!

This was our first visit to London and the location of the hotel was great for walking to most sites. For those other places the tube is easy and convenient. We have no way to judge this hotel against others since was our first trip but from our understanding of European hotels the room was very nice size and the bath was all tile and very clean. I would judge the hotel class as a 3 to 3 1/2 star compared to American hotels. The staff was helpful and courteous. Our stay was very pleasant.

Hotel was located in a great location however rooms were very old and service was slow. We had problems with our magnetic hotel keys deactivating twice and waited at the hotel bar for 20 minutes to get a drink (we ended up just leaving). I would not stay there again despite the good location.

My husband and I took the Eurostar from Paris to London for the weekend to see some shows. The Thistle Piccadilly is in a PERFECT location, right next to Leicester Square. Everything about the hotel was fine; clean, comfortable, good value for the money, etc. The only exception is the breakfast...Stay away! While the food was fine, I could not see paying 98,69 euros for breakfast for 2 people/2 days. That equates to about $28 per breakfast....a real rip-off.

Impressive rooms. The area is noisy, but the windows are so thick they seem to block out a lot of the noise. Big tourist area. The staff had problems handling this reservation. They tried to make me pay for my stay twice, when I'd already paid. It seemed to work out, but was a huge hassel involving several people.
