While we were originally booked at the Paris Hotel for our stay in Florence, it turns out they overbooked and upgraded us to the Hotel Calzaiuoli. This turned out to be perfect. The location is amazing. Step out of the hotel and turn left, you're a few steps from Piazza Signoria. Go to the right and you're a few steps from the Duomo, with Palzzo Strozzi right there as well. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was one of the more generous that we had in our hotels in Italy. The standard rooms are definitely small, but it's to be expected anywhere in Italy. It was comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 or 4 nights during our 10 year wedding anniversary trip to Europe. This hotel could not have been more centrally located to see the typical sights of Firenze. A 3 minute walk right down our street to the Duomo. A few more blocks past that to the Academia (David's home). Then the other direction out of the hotel is the Piazza Signorelli and the Uffizi and the Arno. The Piazza de la Republica is one block away with GREAT food. The BEST part of the hotel's location is that there are very FEW cars in the historical section and everyone just walks up and down the cobblestone streets.
