Until two years ago we were regular guests each winter. We spent $* to $* at the Westin each year over a six year period. We increasingly became frustrated with poor service and a indifferent attitude. For $* per day, we expect more. We finally got to the breaking point when accosted by the housekeeping staff after we reported that our door was left open. The reaction of hotel management. NONE. They could care less. Then we asked for a second packet of coffee for the in-room coffee maker. The maid did not accomodate. When we called the front desk they said that all the coffee was locked up. Wow, maids have free run of all the hotel rooms but cannot be trusted with $* packets of coffee. Then we called for managment. They were in a meeting... we would have to wait. Finally after repeated calls we got a call from a manager inquiring coldly.. " what is it that you need?". When a maid fnally delivered the packet of coffee, she acted as if we complained about her. Nice attitude!! Finally, when we checked out we took time to fill out the questionare to Hotel management, listing our tele. number and requesting a call. Guess what, they didn't call. They couldn't be botthered to mollify a disgruntled customer. The attitude of the Westin is that guests should feel grateful just to stay at their fine facility. Message to the Westin from Tom Walker.... We are still waiting for your call.

This is a 3 star Hotel. Not up to the Westin standards of the US. Has its prob s and conb s. Pros Great!!! Location right in the middle of 7 mile beach. The beach is easy access, gentle waves, and clear, picture perfect water. Pool was nicely shaped and had separate sections so you could move to areas of activity or quiet depending on the quests you were sharing with. Plenty of sun and shade all day long. Swim up bar was nice but also shows up as a con below. Room was clean and made-up mid-day everyday. (We stayed for 6 nights). Cons We booked an b Ocean Frontb but received an b Ocean Viewb . Front is Front. We had to go out on our balcony and look to the side to see the b Oceanb . Staff just shrugged their shoulders and acted like English wasnb t their language. Room was clean but our carpet had a huge stain even though the carpet looked fairly new. We booked 3 people and got 2 double beds. Would have expected Queen beds in a Westin. There was no sleeper couch, when we asked for a roll-away bed they stated that only an air mattress was available because of fire codes. Restaurants didnb t offer much daily type dinning. Over priced so we went across the street as most of the other guests did. The Westins is missing a revenue opportunity by letting their guests spend their money at the competition. SMOKING allowed at pool, pool swim-up bar. Westin claims to be b Smoke-Freeb . Not here.

I was looking for the bluest water and beautiful sand and I got it!!! the westin has the most beautiful beach of seven mile beach.. It also is right next to governor's reef, which you can swim out to. So many fish it was a wonderful time.. They upgraded our room to deluxe beach front. Open up the doors and we were right on the beach. They also brought us a bottle of sparkling wine, chocalate covered strawberries and a very nice card for our aniversary..Perfect!! The rooms were nice they could stand to be refreshened,but they were still very nice. Expect to spend money on food.. Don't go to town when the cruise ships are in port.. Way too crowded.. If you can't decide between the westin or the ritz.. I say the westin.. Spend that money you would save on a ocean front room and great food and the SPA at the Westin. Or go to the ritz and you will be on the other side of the road from the ocean.. It is fancy, But I want a beach vacation.. Two negative:1 thing were the people from red sail. DIdn't really like them. Not very friendly to tourist. They need to remember we pay there way 2. New air conditioning system needed in the gym.. too hot for working out

Clean and well kept hotel -- room service staff were fantastic! Only issue was the computers went down while I was there so they were having trouble keeping up with charges the old-fashioned way. However, I'm already trying to find out how soon I can go back!
