We were promised a king size bed and received a room w/ two doubles. The hotel catered to a very young group that were not guests of the hotel but overran the lobby. Even on the fourth floor we could hear the techno music pulsing through the floor. The room did not have a tub, only a shower stall and they were very limited on toiletries. I found the pool area music to be loud and not conducive to relaxation. The service was slow and security was rude. Maybe if they didn't cater to the frat boy club they wouldn't need to be so uptight. For a luxury resort, I was very disappointed.

The hotel was beautiful, big rooms and the service was great. Lamps and TV was not working, One call to the front desk, within a few hours, all was in working order. We will go and stay there again.

If you are looking for the #1 place to stay in San Juan look no further. This hotel is family friendly, but if you are young and hip there is no better place. This is the only hotel with a club in it. The club was off the hook! Long lines to get in, but if you're staying there you get right in. The Casino was top notch. The lobby had live music every night! The pool had a station where they rent you out footballs, frisbees, body boards, and everything else for free. Walk out to the amazing pools (there are 3) or cruise 2 seconds further to the beach. Simply Amazing! Walk down the street to the Supermarket to stock up on cheap food and cheap liquor! Make your own drinks and take them around. The room was great and we even got a free upgraded room. Trust me, I've been around the world (na, na, na) and this spot is unreal. Try it! Hotel Staff was super friendly. I can't wait to go back!!!

just returned from a 6 night stay at the el san juan june 22nd to 28th. Unlike the previous reviews I must say that both my fiance and I really enjoyed the hotel. The rooms were nice and I felt that they were clean. The hotel lobby area had a very rich look of mahogany wood all throughout, and was quite trendy. Very nice sunken in bar at the center of lobby as soon as you walk in with the Casino to the right. Ate at Kocos and the Japanese restaurant and was surprised by the quality of the sushi. Pool area was beautiful as well as a nice stretch of beach which I ran in the mornings before breakfast. Pool and beach areas my favorite...wallgreens two blocks away which is nice. Chillis accross the street if you really want. Also two really good restaurant for traditional food right near by 3 to 5 minute walk...Platos and Metropol...oh and def checkout Raises restaurant in old san juan...By the way we are 30yrs old. Gets packed with locals friday and saturday nights and always live music...
