Location was good--close to the Biltmore Estate and the Biltmore village area with quick access to the Interstate. We checked in on a Saturday afternoon with small children eager to swim in the advertised heated indoor pool. To our surprise and the surprise of other guests, the pool was not heated. Complaints to management went unserved since the 'real' manager (versus weekend managers) was the only one able to address or rectify the pool. The pool temperature was probably around 74 degrees F. By checkout time on Tuesday morning, the real manager () had addressed the pool temperature, adjusting it to around 81 degrees. Despite not having a heated pool as advertised, everything else was fine. The rooms were clean and updated. The staff accomodated us with a room by the laundry on the 3rd floor. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, tidy and tasty. Overall, the stay was pretty good.

The Baymont Inn is perfectly situated very close to the Biltmore Estate and the Historic Biltmore Village shopping area. It's also only 5-10 minutes from downtown Asheville. Additionally, if you want to hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway to do some sightseeing, you are minutes from there as well. The hotel and rooms are very clean and nicely appointed. The staff is friendly. The only improvement I could see would be to the average complimentary breakfast selection!

I looked and looked for a good hotel for under $* a night, and was so pleased to find this gem. I wasn't sure what to expect, given the wide range of reviews that I'd read on the web for hotels in general (I mean, how can one know for sure since some people are more finnicky than others?). And I tend to be finnicky...anyway, I took a chance booking this on the web and was just so pleased to find that the hotel is brand new (6 months old), so it is clean and up-to-date (flat screen TVs in every room, internet access, fitness room, pool, etc.). The staff were friendly and helpful. Even though it is right on the freeway (40), you cannot hear the traffic (and both me and my husband are light sleepers...really). So, I believe the insulation is good. The restaurant there served a pretty good dinner (although I would suggest going into town for food). Breakfast at the hotel was just OK; we didn't think the wait staff had their act quite together (it was sort of like Laurel and Hardy, so we kind of laughed about it). If you want a good breakfast, eat at the ""'ello cafe and tea house"" on Harwood; great fresh food, locally baked bread, and a pretty good selection of teas (if you're a tea snob). The location is approx. 3 miles from the Biltmore Estate, on the outskirts of town (which is on the other side of the tunnel...hence the name Tunnel Road). One could stay closer to the estate or even in town, and I don't believe it would be worth the cost since you have to drive into the estate anyway. This hotel is an inexpensive (relatively speaking), excellent choice. Definitely stay there again.
