The hotel was nice. The only downside is that you have to transfer from the ground elevator to the 3rd floor (where the reception desk is located) to get to the guest rooms (a little inconvenient if you are carrying luggage or packages). The breakfast buffet was cheaper than some of the other hotels and had a nice selection. We didn't eat any other meals there. The subway is about 4 blocks from the hotel and fairly convenient. Hotel is right in the middle of Magnificent Mile, close to the art musem, Hancock Center and restaurants. Everyone at the hotel was helpful and friendly.

Most staff members were extremely helpful and friendly. There was one that was unbelievably rude and could barely speak english. We were gone from 9am and the housekeeper showed uo to clean our room at 5pm on a Saturday night as we were coming in to take showers before dinner. The lady at the front desk said that was normal and that we would need to ask to have our room cleaned prior to 5pm. My young daughter and I sat in the lobby for 30 minutes waiting to go up to our room.

The Omni was chosen for it's location whichworked out perfectly. The bedding was wondeful and everything seemed fairly clean ...until...I sat down in the tub...there was BLACK MOLD in the soap holder, in the cracks on the walls between the tile, all under the tile overhang above the tub and completely around the toilet bowl. Needless to say I drained the tub and took a shower...I really don't care for showers. Oh yes...the toilet leaked as well...The staff were very helpful but I was disappointed. I travel extensively and don't think I will return. we needed color copies for a business meeting and their printer was broken, so the man in the business center took the jump drive to another part of the hotel, printed the presentation and delivered it to our room. They try! We booked online for a weekend package and got a room on the 10th floor with a view of the windows of another building...but we weren't there too much.

Our hotel room was very nice. Everything was paid for when we arrived and when they asked for credit card and we didn't have one, they put * on our debit card. We used * and then had to wait for over two weeks and phone call to get our money back. I feel in this ecomeny that some people don"" choose to use credit cards and pay the high % rates and I feel that the front desk personal treated us different. it was the body laugage that they young lady used that upset me. I used to work for Omini Corp and if any of my staff would have treated a guest any different if they had bluejeans on or a suit on, they would have been talk too. Our food is very over priced $5.00 for cup of tea to go is little overboard. The evening that we returned from our dinner at Morton Restaurant we went up to the lounge and the bartender was ok, but then we moved to a table and never did see our server. Both my husband and I have been in the restaurant business for over 35 years and I have to say the service wasn't very good. That evening when we returned it was raining and the doormen never afford some assisstants, they just stood there .

This was my family's first trip to Chicago. We wanted to see a game at Wrigley Stadium and decided to stay a few days downtown. We had a great experience at the Omni. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We had a good view from the 17th floor. Our room (we had a suite) was beautiful and super clean. But the best part about the hotel is the location. It is right in the middle of the Magnificant Mile. Many attractions are within walking distance--the navy pier, the loop, the John Hancock Observatory. We took the el (subway) and bus to the museums, but they are not far (except the Museum of Science and Industry). When you go, do not miss the parks by the water. The Cloud Gate ( a giant silver bean-shaped sculpture) and the Buckingham Fountain are awesome. By the way, so was Wrigley Field!
