  I have just returned from a 10-day trip to Europe with 22 college students and 12 adults. The last stop of our trip was London, and it was truly the highlight of our stay (we also visited Rome, Florence, and Paris). Right across the street from the hotel is a War Museum which I personally did not see but other students in our group said it was very interesting (I believe it is free). There is a Tube (their subway system) station about a block and a half a way (called the Lambeth station), and a bus stop about a block away. Definitely travel using the Tube which is much more cost effective than taxis and it is easy to use and very fast. We had "day passes" so that we could freely use the Tube and the city buses all day. The breakfast that the hotel offered was very, very good. It included scrambeled eggs, ham, sausage, yogurt, cereal, and fresh fruit.
