I stay at the Berkeley Marina Doubletree whenever I visit my daughter and her family in Berkeley. The hotel is comfortable, clean, and prettily situated - its location on the Bay is beautiful. Although it is a bit isolated from downtown Berkeley, the complimentary van service to BART and other locations in the city makes it a convenient choice. The van takes me door to door to my daughter's home. The staff is friendly and helpful. I think this hotel is a great value!

I stayed in the Doubletree last week and had a nice time. The rooms were fine and very quite. We were close to S.F. and enjoyed Berkeley. Do not eat at the Doubletree. The food was so bad we left it all on the table and had to walk out. The wait staff was nice and the bar was great but the food was the beyond bad.

This hotel is one to avoid ! First of all, the staff was utterly unfriendly and rude. I had paid extra to book a "marina view" room and they gave me the worst possible room with hardly any view of a boat let alone the entire marina. When I politely requested to be given an upper floor room, they rudely declined (by the way I made my reservation through Travel online and when I called the hotel before my trip to make a request for an upper floor room, they declined quoting they can't make any changes to a reservation if booked on Travel online !!). The room lacked a very basic amenity - a fridge and when I asked where I could keep some perishable food, they just asked for $15 a night for that ! To make things worse, I requested a parking pass for a friend of mine who wanted to meet me at the hotel and the hotel staff just rudely asked for $10 or $15 for an additional parking pass since I had put down "1 guest" when I made the reservation ! give me a break ! This hotel is way out on the marina and there is not even a convenient store within walking distance. The building I stayed in did not even have direct access and had to go through a maze to get into my room ! I would strongly suggest folks to stay away from this so called "hotel".

The only problem we had with the hotel was the difficulty in getting to it. The room was very nice and clean. We enjoyed the marina view from our room but there is no way you can sit our on the small balcony. We did not eat at the hotel but the Starbucks in the lobby area was great for grabbing coffee on our way out each morning.

I stayed here while visiting my son who is a student. The location was excellent, the room was updated very nice and the bed was a good as any 5 star I've been to. For the price I thought it was a great value. The restaurant food was very good but a little pricey. My wife and I had a great walk along the water at the nearby park. I will definitely stay there again. I rate it excellent for the price.
