The best deal you are going to find downtown in the older section of Puerto Vallarta called the Romantic Zone. We were there in late Feb 2008, and it was very hot (80-85) during the day, but with some wind which was a nice break. AC worked fine in our room. It cools down at night so bring a sweater girls! The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. We got the ""almost all inclusive"" package, which is the only way to go, because the food was great! The drinks were ok, and since they're included, if they are weak...well, get two!! There are two on site buffet style resturants, and one of them is half outside right down near the ocean. Awesome view of Los Muertos beach. It's a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but if you're hungry and it's not at serving time, no worries. They have a hot food snack area open for hamburgers/veggie-burgers and things when the restaurants are closed. You can get a drink at one of 3 bars, or a cute waiter will serve you one right to where you are, even if it's on the beach! We always tipped our servers and they appreciated it. The food was so good that we checked to see what they were serving before going out to eat. We actually stayed at the hotel every time! The beds however were really hard and springy, but they gave us some foam pads which helped a bit. The hotel was very clean and they had fun music playing by one pool everyday. It's more of a party kind of atmosphere in this area of PV, so it really comes alive at night. Pretty quiet on the street side until the weekend. Beach was beautiful.

The best deal you are going to find downtown in the older section of Puerto Vallarta called the Romantic Zone.
