Location is PERFECT, right in the center of the City square where tons of shopping malls and restaurants are. Don't go in July, toooo HOT and HUMID! and Hotel is Very COLD. So I got the Flu/ Fever from going back and forth from Hot, Cold Hot Cold. I stayed in the Standard Room of Sofitel. The room was old, old decor. Shower didn't drain well, but the staff fixed it after 2 days. You have to Pay for breakfast buffet also, not free.

This hotel was conveniently located near a large shopping area and was just ten minutes from the Bund on foot. It was clean and well presented, and for the most part, the staff were helpful and knowlegable. I was under the impression that breakfast was included with my room and was therefore shocked that about $* CAD had been charged to my room each morning. Also, the bed was not ideal. Though it looked comfortable, the mattress was very hard (it felt like a wooden board) and not ideal for getting a good night's sleep after a long flight.

Great Location. (on Nanjing Road - which is a walking street and 12 minute walk from the Bund) Very clean and modern. All staff spoke English. Service was excellent and staff very helpful. Only negative is that there is no free shuttle from airport as stated in this web site. You need to take a taxi or a bus from the airport.
