  For leaving Vienna for Munich, Budapest or other destinations from the West Train Station [WBahnhof] very convenient: walk out of the station and it is across the street...also the Ubahn [subway]station is right there...so easy with luggage. 10 min direct run into central Vienna on the U3/U4 lines...faster than driving to Starbucks at home...I got up one morning, took the U to Stephensplatz, got a Coke Light filled with ice, used free wifi at McDonalds and brought it back to the hotel before my wife had showered and dressed! Get the ubahn,sbahn,bus pass. Very clean hotel...but if in summer, upgrade to room with AC. Windows open two ways, if you have the outside fire escape, open the window on the vertical-it only goes partway for security. There is a direct tramline-10 min from the East rail station [fromPrague etc]. Nice small bar with some very good Austrian white wines...great staff...English speaking. Parking garage. Downside: not across the street from the Opera etc.
