Not a glitch in the stay. Check in/out smooth, friendly staff. Free shuttle to Taste of Minnesota. Room exceptionally clean, bed comfortable, bath and shower nice. I am a Minneapolis Snob, and we thoroughly enjoyed our late night cocktails and dining at Liffy's. I thought St. Paul was quiet in the evening, but the place was hopping! We would definitely stay again!!

Nice Hotel, Great service, Great location, No Surprises

This was the default hotel for our son & new daughter's wedding. The location was prime for their wedding at Fort Snelling Chapel and their reception at the Harriet Island Pavilion. Most of the wedding guests stayed here, and we heard no complaints. We were present when several of our friends arrived & checked in, and in all cases the desk staff was above average in friendliness and helpfulness. We utilized the hotel shuttle to & from the reception and the service was as promised (FYI, you need to arrange shuttle service with the hotel for a special event like this). The groom's lunch Friday was held in The Liffey, an Irish-style pub on the first floor. We were very pleased with their service. So pleased that many of us came back Friday evening for dinner, Saturday for a snack between the wedding and reception and for post-reception partying, and for the Sunday morning breakfast brunch. We had one problem with our room (plugged toilet) but since stuff happens what really is important is the resolution. Hotel staff was there immediately and they took care of it. The room was clean, quiet, and in very good condition. The bed was *great*. I'd suggest a room on the sixth floor or above for an interesting city view, whether north or south.

Bad Air-conditioning and Television

A nearby hospital listed this as a nice hotel with shuttle service to hospital. As a Holiday Inn, I hoped to rely on their reputation for cleanliness. We didn't spend much time in the room since our family member was in critical condition at the hospital. The night that the room was very much needed for sanctuary, had no air-conditioning and the television didn't work. The manager told me that It was my fault for not telling them about the air-conditioning, yet the housekeepers must have realized that it was unusual for a room to be 90 degrees with the air-conditioning on. I don't think it would have been appropriate to have a maintenance crew in the room while we were trying to find solace with one another I find it hard to believe that this was my fault, and have received no apology from the manager. I will never again trust Holiday Inn, for this weekend will remain in my memory for a very long time. I only hope the pain and guilt subside since I was responsible for my brothers' comfort and let him down big time.
