Hotel was great, clean and peaceful The maintenance staff was amazing and friendly. I would of liked more time to look around the resort but with kids and all I was at the parks all day. My family and I enjoyed our stay. Word to the wise If your staying four days buy a three pass or a four day pass if stay for four to five days.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge was beautiful and the staff friendly, helpful. Hotel was very clean, the animals were amazing. The major problem why we wouldn't go back there is that one cannot get into any restaurant without having booked > 1 week in advance. On our 4 day trip, we were able to get one meal in a restaurant very late at night that I booked a week in advance by calling personally when nothing was available on line. On line, all spots were booked. In person, there are no spots either. The rest of the time, we ate in their downstairs dirty expensive cafeteria "Mara" with ketchup and coffee spilled all over. ($30 for 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 coffees or $30 for two lunch plates and Cokes.) We had hoped to be able to go out for breakfast or a dinner more than once. Near the restaurant entraces, there are people and strollers in long lines, also with red beepers waiting to be called or checked in. These are the lucky ones. It appears that all the guests are on the Disney Dining Plan and book every meal far in advance, leaving none open for other guests. Next time, we'll get a rental car and go off property to get dinner. One night, we did take a cab and go out for dinner at a non Disney restaurant. (The Disney restaurants are all full. at the theme parks and hotels...) We satisfied the hunger pangs by going to the gift shop and buying bags of nuts.

Hotel was very nice and front desk employees were very helpful. Hotel also had airline check in for several airlines, which was great. We didnt need to bring our luggage to the airport- they took care of it for us and even gave us our boarding passes. On the minus side, the room we had smelled funny, and we told the maids about it but it didnt make a difference. Also, the restaurants are very pricey for the value. Overall it was a good experience.

My wife and I have been to WDW and stayed at the AKL the past 3 years and couldn't have been happier. Yes, the rooms are a bit small and yes, the food is a bit pricey but both are well worth the $. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The lodge iteslf is fantastic starting with the lobby. We had been upgraded all three years to Savanaugh view rooms which are great for watching the animals. Buses are super convenient for getting to and from the parks. Overall this is the best place I have stayed. Would go back in a heartbeat. Just remember you are on vacation and at Disney World and nothing will bother you.

My mother and I stayed here from 1/30-2/6. Despite a few minor issues with our room and noise, we had an amazing stay. We had a Savannah View room, but unfortunately, the animals had been moved due to construction - at least we had the real "view" for a day. We had a great stay, and the staff was excellent. They took care of any problems that we had, and allowed us to relax. The room itself is MUCH smaller than the majority of rooms on Disney property, and they are very dark as well. That is probably my only gripe regarding the rooms. Other than that, it was delightful! :-) Try the Turkey Ciabatta and Zebra Domes at The Mara - TO DIE FOR!!!
