The best thing about the Tamarijn is the location. Every room is ocean front and steps away from the beach. You walk outside and there you are on a beautiful sandy beach. The rooms are nice, but they could use an upgrade..especially the bathrooms. I think you trade the location for a spacious modern room, but it was worth it. As for the food and drink..the drinks are not top shelf and the wine is not good at all. They do have some good liquor, but did not make my favorite drinks (sangria or mojito). As for the food, they have four restaurants on the property and two and the adjoining hotel (Divi) which you can eat at as well. The buffets are what you would expect..okay, but not great. The Italian and Asian restaurants were not good. The Palm Grill where you cook your food at the table was good and fun. The best restaurant was the Red Parrot at the Divi. The food was excellent and service was great. We ate there twice, but should have gone more. The staff was excellent and the overall experience was great.

The Tamarijn is a wonderful place to stay. All rooms are directly on the beach. The food for a 3 star property is quite good. The service was good and everyone tried to assist you the best they could with whatever your request was. There is a shuttle service that was great. They would bring you to any place on the property that you had asked to go (this was wonderful since some of the restaurants/activities were quite a distance away). The only thing lacking was the entertainment aspect. We have been to other all-inclusive properties where the activities were quite extensive throughtout the entire day. This was not the case here. If you are looking for a property to stay that is low key and all you want to do is lay on the beach, this is the place. The weather in October was perfect (90) Overall, I would recommend this property to others.

My wife and I stayed at the Tamarinh last month and spent over a week there. You can not beat the loation, I mean the water is right outside your backporch. Absolutely beautiful! The rooms themselves are not going to win any 5-Star awards, but they are nice enough, they are clean, and you can not beat the location. The bed was ok, the room was not filthy and the folks at the resort make sure that you have everything that you need. I was skeptical about the whole all inclusive thing, thinking that there would be certain times that you have to do everything and all, I am sure glad my wife talked me into that one. There are places to eat all through the day and up until 1am. Same is true for cocktails and such. The all inclusive is well worth it as you will easily eat and drink the dollar differenc that you pay for the all inclusive. A couple of things to be aware of - Palm Island is great for snorkeling, buy the fish food at your hotel before you go since it costs about twice as much once you get to the island. The Jeep tour to see the natural bridge and the natural pool is great, but it is true off-roading - do not wear sandles as there is some tough walking, and do not take a good camera because there is allot of dust blowing around. A great tour though, just was not clearly explained to us as to what to expect. Get quarters for the laundry mat. Sunset sail is awesome too. And spring for the beach massage for your wife, she'll love it! This resort is awesome! If you need granite countertops though, the Divi is up the street!

First let me start by saying we love Aruba and the Tamarijn. Check-in at the front desk was not as easy a process as in years past. The attendant helping us was not friendly, nor did she tell us the safe lock was in the bag they give you. When I went back to ask, she was very blunt. I also remembered we had rented a cellular phone as in years past that is always left at front desk, she told me they didn't deal with that, it was two separate things. The bellman took us to our room, quickly and unloaded our luggage. He also picked us up when we left, which was very helpful. When we got to the room and got settled, I called back to the front desk to inquire about the cell phone, and a very polite X told me it was there and I could pick it up anytime. Kudos to her, she was the most polite and friendly one we spoke to at the front desk the entire time! This year was the first year we experienced a bad experience at Guest Services. Everything is computerized and you can only make reservations for dinner a day in advance. That means you spend at least 30 minutes in line each morning waiting to make reservations. And most of them were not friendly. It may be time for some of them to retire! We hope by the time we go back, this process will be fine tuned! Now the positive: Thanks to Bartenders and servers at both places. Always friendly even when they are busy! We love them! Rooms were always clean! Would we go back? OH YES, WE LOVE ARUBA!

Great place to spend a vacation. Beach was beautiful, food was good, not great. A very good family place with a more reserved crowd. Service was good, but don't expect to be waited on hand and foot. Well worth the money!!
