Would stay again if just on a business function where little time spent in room. Was clean. Carpet in room was a bit threadbare in spots. They need to change the de-odorizer used in the hallways, musty might be a good word. Some hallway light fixtures damaged. Having a mini-fridge and a microwave was nice, but I would have preferred in-room coffee more. No hangers in closet. There are security hangers available and they need to get some. The wireless internet doesn't reach beyond the office. Add repeaters guys, and make it a useful service. Bring your own alarm clock as there are none in rooms. Decent value for the money. Our stay was 4 nights, little of which was spent in room. Staff polite. Housekeeping staff good. If I were doing a mini-vacation in the area, I would choose lodging with a bit more amenities. Restaurant next door, but prices are too high. All in all, not a bad place to stay if you want good, basic accommodations. I know San Luis Obispo so some minor issues like location, closeness to reasonable priced restaurants, etc. bother me less than someone who had never been here before.

11/01/2009Staff was very friendly and made our stay very comfortable. the rooms were very nice and clean!! i would definitely recommend the rose garden anytime!

We found 2 issues with this hotel. I was looking for a hotel that was highly rated and chose this one. Sorry now. Issues included very smelly hallway and no breakfast except for weekend. I adimit to the last part MAY be my fault but it should have been clear.

Well we were a little concerned after seeing some of the reviews but the place was clean and the staff was nice. They had wireless internet a nice garden/pool area. You get what you pay for this is not a 5 star hotel but it was a comfortable place to spend a night.

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. In our second floor room the door had to be kicked open, no bedside clock, not a peice of paper or pen or local directory, rusty water leaking from under the sink in the bathroom and there was no exhast, the accent chair was so dirty my husband had to place a towel over it to sit down. The furniture was scratched up and chipped. I should of known when they handed me the keys wrapped with a post-it note with the room number. My recommendation - sleep in your car.
