From the moment we checked in to the wine tasting every night to the moment we left the El Convento Staff made our wedding work well. They will help you with what you need. They are simply the best in the business. The reception hall is great and what they can do for your special even will make it more memorible. Food was wonderful. Just the atmosphere of the location is breath taking. One thing negotiate with the taxi drivers and if they are unreasonable check with the El Convento staff who will help. The one word that can describe the staff at the El Convento is "Family" You will love your stay.

Our travel agent recommended this place as a slightly expensive but romantic place to stay before our cruise. We found a great price around $ for one night and the whole hotel was wonderful ;they even upgraded us to the honeymoon suite without us asking;. Unlike some other hotels, it doesn't earn its high star ratings from the fancy new amenities. Rather, the service, history, antiques, and overall romantic setting make this a great hotel. With an evening wine and cheese reception overlooking the nearby church and park area, this place has a romantic and special feel that my wife and I will not soon forget.

loved the hotel except my camera was stolen from table outside of my room. was so upset and when i made a claim that my camera was stolen no one took it seriously. i finally called the manager and they took a report. But i never heard anything back from them. It has been 2 weeks since we stayed there. We stayed a total of 5 days. August 2009 Also our room very humid and water damage to ceilings. Otherwise trip was nice.

El Convento is excellent. The property is beautiful and within walking distance to everything in Old San Juan. The staff was helpful and friendly. Every restaurant they recommended was amazing. If I ever return to San Juan, I definitely plan to stay at El Convento.

Really neat place to stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend using the staff to arrange tours, it was user friendly and reasonably priced. It's also a great place to honeymoon. It is very romantic and close to the Paseo Princesa which is a romantic beachfront walkway. The nearby shops are also awesome! It is close to all sorts of eating options from low-cost to high quality. I am so glad that we stayed there.
