One of the best family vacations we have been on. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. They gave great suggestions on things to do and places to eat. We usually ski in Colorado for our winter vacation, but this winter we will be at Big Sky.

Overall the experience was very satisfactory. The only real problem was that there was no clerk available at the check-in for over 1/2 hour. Some issues with housekeeping as we had to ask for washcloths on 2 separate occasions.

I stayed at the Lodge at Big Sky with friends for a ski trip and had an excellent experience. First off, the location is great, about a 5 minute walk to the lifts or a very quick shuttle ride if you'd rather not walk in ski boots. The rooms are very fairly basic but large and comfortable with everything you'd need. The lobby area is beautiful with fireplace, comfy chairs, and a small bar. There's a few hot tubs, both indoor and outdoor which feels great after a day of skiing. The staff is very accomodating and create a nice atmosphere in the lobby with games for families and on Friday nights, they grill up burgers and hot dogs on the back patio. Overall, an excellent experience and great value for the money! One of the best kept secrets in Big Sky.

The staff was friendly but incredibly overworked. We kept seeing the same people working the front desk regardless of what hour of the day we went by. We had already paid extra for a third person in the room, just to cover breakfast and then had to pay more to get another bed in the room. Kind of annoying. Probably would have been better for us to deal with the hotel directly on that issue, but we were trying to avoid having to make a lot of phone calls to different hotels. Continental breakfast was adequate. One of the folks at the front desk gave my sister incredibly pessimistic driving instructions from another town in Montana that was about 3 times as long as what it really takes. I don't think everyone working there had a good familiarity with the area to be helpful.

I spend a lot of time in Montana and own property in Montana. This hotel is a real sleeper for people who want a very homey quiet place extremely close to the slopes( walking distance) with all the comforts of the big name hotels but without the price and pressure. Family friendly with two game rooms, one video games and for those parents who do not approve video games they have an additional room with ping pong, pool table and hockey games. 4 separate hot tubs and an indoor pool and exercise room- high speed connections in all the rooms- free local calls and wifi in the beautiful lobby. My only concern is they will get so much business rooms will not be available for me when I need them. Lovely stay Also complimentary breakfast and a nice little bar for apres ski and evening.
