Next time we're in Steamboat we will definitely stay there again. Room was clean and spacious with a wonderful view from the deck. It's a condo, so it comes with all the appliances, dishes, pots, pans, etc... But remember to bring your own coffee! Staff was very nice and helpful. The office has a list of DVDs that you can "borrow" and play in your room. The room had a DVD player and bookshelf sound system, fireplace, microwave, stove, sink, and full size refrigerator. There is also a pool and several hot tubs. We travel on a motorcycle and average up to 600 miles a day, so most important to us is the bed, which was very comfortable!

This was a great hotel and a good price. It was half the price of the hotels located on the base of(or along side) the mountain. It is only a 2 minute walk to the base of the mountain where all the shops and ski lifts are. The staff was overly friendly and beyond helpful with any of my questions. Also the hotel offers a free shuttle to any where in town from 8am to midnight. So no need to rent a car. I got a 1 bedroom condo and it was very neat and nice looking. They even gave us a bottle of wine on our first day. I highly recommend this as a great place to stay, your so close to the mountain and a quick shuttle to any where in town for free.

We had a studio apartment and it was great - very clean. We made our own breakfast in the morning and had it on the patio overlooking the city. It is superclose to the resort and close to town. We loved going into the hot tub everyday! We may always stay at The West when we go to Steamboat!!! Home away from home - it was great!

The West was the perfect place for us. Really nice and clean rooms but the staff at the West (and all the Champagne Powder Snow) made the vacation for us. Steamboat Resorts must be a great company to work for as the staff was very helpful and friendly. The West is right across from the Gondola so you can either walk over or take a shuttle. Their shuttle takes you pretty much wherever you need to go but its only a short walk to the mountain and village area. My kids enjoyed the doughnuts at the clubhouse every morning too. The accommodations were very clean and exceptional, it felt like home away from home. I will definitely be bringing my family back to Steamboat and staying at the West.
