Stayed here one night on the way south and liked it so much we stayed there again on the trip back north. However, our second stay here was the clincher. The staff in all areas went above and beyond for us, even when faced with issues. We waited 15 min. or so to check in due to a delay from the person ahead of us, so we were given a deep discount on the already good rate to compensate us for the wait. We arrived late and they were out of cribs for the night, but they offered to go get one from another property for us! The breakfast staff is efficient, attentive, and very pleasant even in spite of how busy it was. They anticipated our needs even before we did; the food was also better than you typically find at hotel buffets. The public areas were very nicely decorated for Christmas and showed a true attention to detail. The room and public areas were clean and odor-free, everything worked well, bed was very comfortable, and it's location in the historic district was perfect. All in all, a well-kept hotel with an excellent staff. Definitely a place we would recommend to family and will visit again!

The room we stayed in had a musty smell. The carpet was dirty and stained and the toilet did not always flush with the first try. There was dust along the baseboards. The location was not bad. We walked to the historic district with no problems. The hotel lobby was hot and smelled of grease from the restaurant. A free continental breakfast would have been ideal. I probably would not stay if I came to St. Augustine again.

W e stayed for a week and had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very conveniently located. We were able to walk to the trolley and book our tour with ease. We rode the trolley to attractions that were a little further away but walked to several right around us. The beds werew very comfortable. This hotel also conserves so you have the choice if you want to have your linens changed everyday or wait. I like that option.

Nice hotel, not so good housekeeping

The hotel was really nice, very clean and quiet. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was a nice size with a great shower. The only complaint I have is that the housekeeping was a major disappointment. I think it might be an isolated incident, but when we returned to our room after being at the beach, they had not vacuumed, not hung up any towels (they were in a stack on our bed), not replenished the soaps/shampoos, had barely straightened up our beds (they looked very messy) and basically did nothing but remove old towels and give us a new stack that were not hung up. I did call the front desk and they quickly sent up a lady from housekeeping that apologized several times and brought us another stack of towels and a bag full of soaps/shampoos. Other than that, the hotel is nice with a restaurant and exercise room on the property. The pool is fairly small, but it's nice and there's a hot tub as well. If I were staying here again, I would make sure I again had a room that was away from the pool since there are several rooms that are backed up right next to the pool that would be very loud from the noise of kids & water splashing. The hotel is very close (only about 5 minutes) from downtown St. Augustine and the attractions/restaurants/shops. The beaches are only about 10-15 minutes away so everything was close. It was a very nice hotel and despite the houskeeping issue, I would most likely stay here again. A great hotel for the price.
