My sister and I are teachers so our funds are limited. We stayed at this hotel after a Carnival Cruise. my first impression was negative. When we checked in on a Sunday morning, we had to wait in a long line. There was only one person doing check in and check out. however, that was our only negative experience. The food is very expensive. We paid 14 dollars for a burger, 8 dollars for a hot dog and 4 dollars for a drink by the pool. There is an extra daily charge of 20 dollars resort fee. That being said, let me say that it was worth it. We did not have a car so we didn't have to pay extra for that. We took cabs. The grounds are wonderful. There are beach chairs and umbrellas everywhere. They have their own private beach plus several warm pools. There are many children on the property but the place is big enough that you can avoid them, if that's what you want. We took our chairs and just lay on the grass near an old Spanish fort that is right next to the hotel. The rooms are fine. i had read that they were small. They aren't. The elevators are very fast. in fact, one closed on me. I thought about complaining but let it go. The hotel is not in the busy part of the city known as the Condado. if you want a quiet location, then this is the place to stay.

Stayed a full week as part of a conference in mid July 2009. Would not stay again until I am sure that the rooms are renovated. I had a room with double beds and partial ocean and bay view -- not bad. However the room had a rusty, moldy smell throughout my entire stay. The bathrooms are not equipped with fans, and the bathroom had to be caulked during my stay -- it still didn't help with the smell. In spite of voicing my concerns to hotel staff, changing rooms was not an option nor did a manager address my issues. The hotel lobby is open and very appealing. I enjoyed my breakfast in the Garden restaurant; the staff there was very personable and competent. The hotel's grounds are very pretty and offer fabulous views as well as both beach and pool environments. The lack of a casino saved me some money and kept the lobby area very tranquil. There is a Starbucks on site and wireless access in the lobby.

Had a nice overnight stay at the Caribe Hilton after a Cruise. Got my hotel bill slipped under the door during the night, they were trying to charge me the 14% Resort Fee that was already paid online. Luckily, I had a copy of my booking which showed I had already paid it. The Caribe Hilton is nice, considering its age. We were lucky and got a really nice room in the Hilton Honors Tower. Nice pool area, friendly staff.

For $*** a night and were given a room on the back side of the hotel overlooking a parking ramp! The room was well worn - a Holiday Inn Express would have been better. Use the bathroom shower and the water flows out under the glass door, flooding the bathroom. Beds are twin size. Two mixed drinks at the bar were $21.00. Dinner for four: $300+ A very overpriced 2 star Hotel.

We stayed there in June 2008 and were switched rooms even though we had an early check in. When we were walking down the hallway to our room, we noticed a musty smell.Very simple furnishings. After winding down a bit, I went downstairs to talk to the front desk because I had noticed my receipt said Deluxe room and to me that sure wasn't a deluxe. They had made a mistake and switched us from our original room when we checked in and now had NO Deluxe rooms available. Everything was full. We had to wait 2 days before being able to get our deluxe room. They were nice, but did not really apologize nor was I offered any credits of any sort for the 2 days we spent in the basic, musty smelling room. My daughter even got bed bug bites after the first night, which prompted me more to complain and it didn't help since we couldn't get out of there for 2 days. Once we were in our proper room, it was much better but our initial experience was not good at all!!!!
