The room was dirty, there were roaches. The staff was unhelpful and rude. It took us forever to check in. We ended up over sleeping in a little and called downstairs right at 11:15 and told the front desk we'd be checking out in just a minute. They told us that was ok just be out asap. Not even 10 min later we had someone litterly banging on our door like there was some sort of emergency yelling at us to be out in 5 min or they were charging us another day. While we were there though, the night we stayed we went out and when we came back the parking lot was completely full. People were standing around outside. When we were walking to our door someone was in front of us and they tried using a card to get into our hotel room. They seemed to be on drugs so who knows if it was an accident or they were going to break in. The pool seemed to never close. People were out there all night being loud. We choose this place because it was seemed to look nice on the outside and it was a good price but honestly, I would rather spend more than deal with the staff or have my safety at risk.

Me and my fiance tried finding a nice, cheap hotel to stay in. It was cheap. It was cleanish.. but i wouldn't recommend it. There were roaches crawling in the bathroom. The staff didn't have any supplies (ie toothpaste!) and weren't very friendly. If you want to be near the beach then i wouldn't recommend it at all because the "block" that seperates it from the beach is a very big one. The bed was comfortable. But adding a few more extra dollars to a nicer hotel would be your best bet. Also there were a lot of people just hanging around the parking lot and had random strangers knock on our door.. so on the "safe" side.. i would stay closer to the beach.

This hotel was very average and about what I expect from a Super 8 in a high humidity location. The room was clean and had only a slightly musty smell. It appeared that I arrived while the staff was changing shifts so check-in was a little more difficult than I would expect. The Continental breakfast was very limited and generic, it appeared the pitcher of milk had been sitting out for an extended period with just a few ice cubes under it to keep it cool. The hotel sits back off all roads, you do have to drive through the Waffle House parking lot if you enter off 61st, so there was only noise from patrons and it was fairly quiet. I said I would not stay here again because I believe there are better values on the island but if I were in a hurry it would do.

When I stayed at this Super 8 it was clean, the staff was very helpful and the breakfast bar was well kept and stocked. I don't normally stay at an economy lodging facility, but I had to make reservations as I was heading for the door-a family emergency on the island. No rats, cats, bats, gnats or any type of scary creepy crawlies! A chinese restuarant is next door and McDonalds a couple minutes walk down towards the gulf-(which is also a few minutes walk. There's a fridge in the room and a supermarket next door!
