Maybe we got lucky but it seemed as if there were a lot of happy people here!. We found the staff very nice and friendly and the pool a lot of fun. The room we had was nice and the bed was comfortable. The views of the Pacific were unbelievable. The town of Ixtapa had many decent restaurants and everything was reasonable including the golf courses. About my only complaint was swimming in the Pacific as the life guards are quite vigilant if you try to ride any waves...I would prefer a bit more leniency in that regard. We will be back soon!!

It's too bad when someone has a bad experience at a hotel and posts a poor review. Not enough people post GOOD reviews. The nH Krystal is a fabulous hotel. The staff is outstanding. Thanks to all the staff for making our week at the hotel wonderful. We had a junior suite and the housekeeper put fresh flowers in our room every day. The views were spectacular and the room quite adaquete. We traveled in the off-season (October) and it is humid. We hope to go in the early months of the year next time. We did not go all-inclusive as there are many local restaurants to experience. Getting a quick breakfast and then off to daily activities was great. Spending the afternoon and early evening in the pool made our day even better. The pool is beautiful and clean. The lounge chairs have great cushions and there are lots of umbrellas for shade. The food is to be expected at a hotel. Some local recipes are worth trying. Go to the local restaurants too. Many waiters are extra friendly and helpful with good tips. Go to Zihuatanejo and stop at the resorts above Playa Ropa, buy coffee beans in town, eat at Banditos and have the stuffed ancho chili with stawberry sauce. Yummy! Enjoy Mexico for all it is and make friends with the people. You will love Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo.

WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN
05/11/2008Had to wait 45 minutes to check in. up-graded to a jr. suite which had mising a table and 2 chairs? we found out the hard way the even ...
HAD TO WAIT 45 MINUTES TO CHECK IN. UP-GRADED TO A JR. SUITE WHICH HAD MISING A TABLE AND 2 CHAIRS? WE FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY THE EVEN THOUGH WE PAID THE MOST FOR A ROOM (JR. SUITE) OUR ROOM WAS THE LAST TO BE CLEANED EACH DAY...WE HAD TO WAIT UNTIL ABOUT 4PM TO HAVE OUR ROOM CLEANED. CALLED FOR ROOM SERVICE AND SURPRISINGLY WAS CONNECTED TO THEIR RESTAURANT WHICH WAS NOT PSRT OF THE HOTEL AND DID NOT OFFER ROOM SERVICE. FURTHER ATTEMPTS TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ROOM SERVICE FAILED. WE WERE TOLD THAT BECAUSE OF THE RECENT RAINS THAT THE PHONE WIRES WER WET AND THAT WAS WHAT AS CAUSING THE TELEPHONE PROBLEMS? (IS THIS 2008 OR 1908?). THE POOL WAS OVERCROWDED AND TOO SMALL FOR THA AMOUNT OF PEOPLE. THE POOL WAS OVER-TAKEN BY CHILDREN BOTH QUITE ONES AND SOME VERY LOUD ALONG WITH THE USUAL CYRING TYPES. NO SERENITY HERE. IF PEACEFUL RELAXING TIME AT THE POOL, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO STAY. BREAKFAST WAS POOR. ORDERED THE AMERICAN BREAKFAST WITH SCRAMBLED EGGS AND THE EGGS LOOKED LIKE THE WERE NOT SCRAMBLED AND THEY WERE NOT FULLY COOKED. THE HOTEL IS OLD AND IN NEED OR RESTORATION. AGAIN, WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL.

upon checking in reception shift supervisor informed us our daughters age 14 & 15 are considered adults in their hotel so they're will be an additioanl $490 fee we paid travel agency in advanced so we did not know of this extra fee we attemptd to resolve the defiency with the shift supervisor and travel agency to no avail the shift supervisor bluntly told us if we want we can check in to another hotel and we were still being charged for one night. we decided it would be more trouble to check out but we contacted travel agency though their hotel help website and no response. During our stay the rooms full size beds were hard. there was no ice maker only containers full of ice which did not look sanitary. the food was the same every day, the menu did not change at all. Considering our dispute at check in I thought that atleast one day during our stay a supervisor was going to approach us with a complimentary drink or an upgrade to a suite or an apology for the misunderstanding. nothing during check out at that time i asked to speak to the hotel manager only then front office manager apologized and stated he wish he was told about it and he reduced the additional price of my childs stay by half. I think that the staff should be trained if there is a dispute it should be documented and with the guest of that dispute ther should be follow-up. The pool area was nice althought the lounge chair pads were very worn, and on occasion the pool didnot look or feel sanitary chlorine testing needed more frequently as the day went on. the bar staff was nice and very attentive unlike the reception.

reception not customer friendly specificall dispute with shift supervisor for extra charges because my daughters 14,& 15 considered adults so there is extra fee even though we did not get a bigger room or bigger beds or any extra ameneties poor customer service. no posting of rates regarding occupancy. no follow up during our stay to see how our stay was going. food did not vary same menu daily. pol was nice with slide but water quality would diminish as day went on did not feel sanitary. no ice maker just ice in big barrel chest did not look sanitary. pool lounge chair pads very worn. it does not look like company is training staff or upgrading amenetie including changing menu offerings. during checkout asked to speak to hotel manager had a good conversation with him he understood and reduced additional (adult fee by half) He stated he did not know of dispute and would have addressed it if known. will not stay again, and not recomend to family and friends.
