I spent the weekend in Playa to attend a Sunday evening wedding in a nearby all inclusive. Rather than sit at a remote resort, I wanted to experience some of the Yucatan. This hotel was a perfect choice. Easy access to the tourist area of 5th avenue, yet located in a much more quiet neighborhood. I stayed on the ground level which was probably a little noisier during the day than an upper level room but the hotel was definitely quiet at night. Easy access to stores, restaurants, transportation and the beach - you can walk to everything you need in town.

  • the best family vacation...we will be back :)

the hotel was small but very clean. the room size was just right for my husband and i and our two girls. we had a small apartment type room one queen bed and a twin bed. beds were comfortable. location was the best! right on the 5th ave and just 5-10 min walk from the beach! no need for taxies. food, shopping, money exchange every where. about 6 blocks down is a subway, mcdonalds, burger king. plenty of small convenience stores. around this area is also the ferry to cozumel island. if you stay at a big resort you are kinda stuck there because you need transportation every where, if you stay on the 5th ave you walk out your hotel and non stop safe fun is at your doorstep. all in all it was perfect for us!

  • Great budget hotel

What a great place to stay, very old Spanish, hosienda type building right on the main shopping strip! O.k. so it was a bit noisy due to construction across the street but the town was hit by a pretty big hurricane and they are still trying to recover from that. Outside of each room is a small table with two chairs to sit in where you can enjoy the great open-air atriam which has a very nice rock water feature. The staff could not have been more helpfull. They were all very happy and always willing to help with whatever you might need. Not eight steps from the front of the hotel is a wonderful resturant that serves great mexican/italian/seafood dishes. The service could not have been better. Very friendly waitstaff, relaxing atmosphere, what more could you want. Next door to the resturant is a pizza by the slice shop and next to that is an interesting french fry shop that looked interesting. If you know playa de carmen at all, this hotel is located at the opposite end of fifth avenue than the ferry terminal, really not a bad walk at all, maybe a mile but think of all the shopping you can do on the way to the ferry. For the first time, I took the bus from the airport for nine dollars and could not have been happier. Very short wait for the bus. You catch it right outside the terminal, all the way to the right, behind the marquirita hut and arrive at the bus terminal just up from the ferry. I took a cab to the hotel for five dollars.......really a great, inexpensive getaway. The bus leaves for the airport every hour on the hour......really easy.

stayed here for 5 days. It was great. 5th ave. is noisy but this is the quieter end. the staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable. quick walk to the beach and very good restaurants nearby. I felt very safe here as a single woman traveler in her 30's. I can't wait to go back! Great place! The location is very good because you are not in the middle of 5th ave where it is very noisy, but you are still on the Avenue. I could still hear the mariachi bands but it wasn't as noisy as places further down the avenue.

First and Foremost, this hotel IS NOT IN A "TRANQUIL" part of 5th Street ! THERE IS NO TRANQUIL PART OF 5TH STREET !! It is a mad house, what once was a chic, european vacation spot is now a crowded fat american hell hole, that is Playa Del Carmen. I cannot describe enough what a shame it is but that's reality. So, if you want a place to stay NOT ON THE BEACH, and you want to party like your in Cancun, you got the right place
