After reading some poor reviews, we were somewhat leary of Las Casitas. Happily surprised. The views are amazing, the rooms are clean and spacious. Staff was extremely helpful. We rented a car from San Juan but never left the resort. Food is expensive but hey, you're on vacation. We went to the private island everyday. We were there during a slow time and I could see that the wait for the catamaran and funicular could be long if the hotel was booked. I recommend the strip house and stingrays for dinner. We did recieve a free upgrade from a guestroom to a one bedroom casita and it was great, overlooking the Caribbean. There is some construction going on but it didn't affect our stay. For a less expensive lunch, try Ballyhoo's bar in the marina. We actually managed a meal for under $30, this was the least expensive of the trip. Overall, the hotel more than met our expectations. I would definitely come here again whether for a romantic getaway or family vacation with the kids.

The Las Casitas Village has the best views I have ever seen from a Hotel. The hotel staff were very helpful. The ocean waters are clear and beautiful and the rain forest view is awesome. I took my two sons (21 & 19) and they were never bored. The hotel has its own Palomino Island where you can take a boat ride and play on the beach. The beach was very clean and the people were nice. The places to eat at the hotel were a bit pricey but go to the local places and take in some real puerto rician food. By the looks at other hotels that we drove by, when my wife and I go back we will definately stay at the Las Casitas Village again.

Our casita was a great self-sufficient unit located away from the busy main hotel. We could use all the services of the hotel including restaurants, pools, private island, kids camp, etc. It was a bit of a schlep to the private island beach, but the pay off was probably the best beach in Puerto Rico. It would be nice if they built a funicular that went directly from the casitas to the marina.
