We stayed at the Scarlet Hotel on the last few days on our Asia trip. We were quite impressed when we arrived early in the morning and they were very welcoming with a room ready for us. The porter, X, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the property and surrounding areas. The front desk staff was always cheery and helpful at all hours of the day. One of the best things is the location close to chinatown, across from Maxwell Food Center, and near to two great areas for going out. We were not disappointed by how convenient it was. Only a five minute walk to the MRT. The only inconsistency was the housekeeping. Our turn down service the first night was weird in they did not tidy up the bathroom and they turned down the bed leaving the two remote controls and a half bottle of water lying on the bed. The second night turn down service took out all of our bath linens, even the bath rug, and we had no towels at all. They were very prompt in bringing us towels but it was very strange to have no towels. I would definitely stay here again next time we come through Singapore. We enjoyed the hotel and the staff made us feel welcome every time we came in. What more could you ask for?

The first night I had a room with no window. Next day I requested a room with a window and I was moved without any problems. The rooms are very small, but clean and neat. I had a small problem with taxi arrangements at my departure, but the hotel were responsive to my complaint.

An unequivocally fun and trendy stepping stone for friends meeting up in the Far East. Members of the staff were wonderful. The Scarlet accomodates perfectly to the needs of those between 20-35 years of age. We had a fabulous time. If you're a single, you'll love it. If you're not, be under 45.

Its a boutique hotel with a unique theme - i called it the Dracula lair. Rooms are quite small for a Deluxe and bathrooms are even smaller. I feel a little claustophobic. The pillow was hopelessly soft and uncomfortable. Location wise is not as great. But the maxwell food court nearby boasts some of the best Singapore dishes.
